found this video................
what do you guys think on this idea.. is it worth it........
watch video... then talk

by doing this .. is he getting more light output per square in.. vrs.. just putting 2 light in same area...?
also this has to cut the life of that light in half?
would doing this make this better then putting 4 cfl's in the same grow space?

what would you like to know? overdriving is pretty pointless t5 54w are the most efficient fluorescent. ive tried all types of overdriving really only useful if you have a small space and need more light than you can fit in there.

Very dangerous unless you know what you are doing. Only a lmited few ballasts can function well. Some of the magnetics can melt down and erupt in flames. Use the wrong ballast and you may end up with a face full of hot glass shards laced with mercury. The cost of an additional fixture and tubes are not worth personal injury or burning your house down.

hmmm, not exactly correct but all the same certain ballast do HAVE to be used a CERTAIN way in order for it to work correctly, that is a good point though, overdriving is more for DIGITAL(seen sveral mag ballasts say electric stupid chinese...) ballast rather than Magnetic ones.

its not TOO dangerous so long as you know what you are doing. more than likely the worst thing that will happen is you will hear a load buzzing and the bulb will not ignite, this means you are tripping the internal breaker that prevents a ballast from exploding a bulb or over heating both bulb or ballast.
