I have just started an outdoor grow for the first time. I planted two 8 week old female plants which i grew indoor in soil, outside in a very safe location.

I have 4 thin sturdy iron bars around each one of them with chicken wire, to keep away any critters, but the thing is........The weather in Ireland is Terrible! Considering that the clouds cover are skys at least 50% of the time thanks to were we are placed, there is never solid weeks/months of sunlight! Lucky to get a couple of days or even a week, always inconsistent weather.

So what do you guys think i should do to battle the bad weather? I have heard the lower nodes of my plants will suffer without good light penetration, and i'm worried the buds will get ruined once it starts flowering with all the rain! :wall:

Any info appreciated fellow growers!!!!!:leaf:

If the rain hits ur buds in the last 3 or 4 weeks then u might have to deal with mold. U can cover them with some greenhouse plastic..

Will the consistent rain not affect the plant before that stage? I was thinking all the constant rain would basically overwater the plant.

If you have walls of chicken wire put a roof over it made with plastic have it drape down a few inches down the walls. this might help the plant by increasing the heat a little(I think of Ireland as cool and damp) and keep the plant a little drier. she can get her moisture from the roots no need to overwater

Outdoors they can take a lot of water as long as the temps are not cold and it drains pretty well. I live in a hot rainy area and I really have to watch the buds the last few weeks. I go out and shake them off every time it rains. MJ is a very resilient plant and loves to grow outdoors. It may take you a couple of grows to figure it out, but it will grow for you if you find the right spot. Morning sun is the best if you can provide it.
