Outdoor Plants Flowering Already?

Hey gang. I put some plants outside a little over 3 weeks ago (I'm in Oz) and they're flowering already. I took a bunch of clones a few months ago to experiment with converting them to male and these were a few that ended up surplus to requirements so I just left them vegging under lights until I could put them outside. I'd left them in reasonably small pots but transplanted them into huge pots when I put them outside and all the colas on the plants are already in flower (I mainlined the plants while they were under lights so 8 colas per plant). Is this normal? I've never grown outside before but thought the plants wouldn't start to flower until the days started getting shorter.

It's spring there so not the long days of summer yet. If they finish that's great but if not they'll reveg.
