Hi there,
I have a few outdoor plants going this year and have an issue I'd like to share to see if anyone has any input.
They have kinda skinny and stringy new growth, everything else looks pretty good. Could be greener in my opinion.
I've been growing for several years now and this is a common problem ever since I went organic.
The plants are in 100-150 gallon smart pots filled with a homemade soil mix comprised of a premade balanced fertilizer and a few extra goodies I threw in there.
I use auto irrigation in combination with hand watering and I feed compost/nutrient tea by hand every 2-4 waterings, sometimes not quite as often.
It's been pretty hot and dry here in Oregon this year.
I just cropped some indoor with the same soil mix and compost tea and it went did great, but I did see the same tacoing and thin new growth.
These outdoor plants are growing super fast and are drinking 10-20 gallons of water per watering.
If anyone has any experience with this issue and would like to share that would be awesome.
Thanks.
I pictured the plant, the new stringy growth, and huge healthy bottom growth fan leaf.
