Outdoor Pests?

Something has been devouring entire leaves. I know it isn't anything like deer because the damage would be far worse but does anyone know of any insects/animals that would cause this kind of damage. I'm thinking snails/slugs since I have seen some around but I didn't know they ate whole leaves like that. However, I hope it is because they should be fairly easy to control. Does anyone have advice so I can prevent further damage?

Grasshoppers ... fucking scourge of the horti industry ...

Is it low enough for rabbits to get to as i was reading it all i could think is grasshoppers but that looks like more dammage than a grasshopper but not enough to be a deer

Yes, I have rarely seen any grasshoppers and it is odd that all of a sudden entire leaves are missing. I think maybe a rabbit found the plants and decided to take a few samples. On a younger plant, the entire top growth was eaten off like something took a nice bite. I'm going to get some deer/rabbit repellent and hopefully that solves it

If it was a rabbit, it would probably also be gnawing on the main stem. They'll girdle and take a small plant in one night. Wood rats will steal and stash whole branches. Grasshoppers like to shimmy around and hide when you approach, but most likely you'd notice at least one. Deer browse and so may only eat part of a plant and come back. Spray something that tastes bad.

Wow great tips at least now I know what to look for. Do u have any reccomendations for a homemade or store bought spray to use on the plants?

Turkeys like to eat leaves as well. I'd I.d. the pest before treatment. Look for tracks and poop. I would suspect any of the pests described so far. Grasshoppers can do a lot of damage, you might see the numbers increase shortly and that would clue you in.

And it is deer! I caught the bastard about 20 meters from the grow! An entire 2 ft tall plant has been eaten and others have been ravaged . I need to do something asap
