Outdoor NW grow....geezer grow

My first outdoor grow is coming into flower. That is everything but my Northern Lights. Question is how to protect it if the weather turns cold before I can Harvest. Any advice would be helpful. Completely legal, organic, medical grow in soil.

Wow absolutely beautiful. As far as the temp problem I have no suggestions since I don't think there's a temp control for Mother Nature. But I'm sure you'll be fine. Maybe someone else may have suggestions who's experienced with outdoor growers. But other than that those look amazing!

Agree with OnePrays, they's beautiful!! And they are friggin HUGE! Looks like you may need some sort of carport or plastic canopy. Or pray for balmy nights for the next 6 weeks. Yeah, that ain't gonna happen...lol There's some good tips here :

Despite the potential weather problems. All in all, this is a good problem to have :weed:

Good luck :peace: and hope you have plenty of help come harvest time...lol :o

In AZ I've seen plants do fine in 40F - 115F, these plants are usually 6-8 feet tall and have root systems to support harsh weather. Worst problem was purple buds and reduced growth.

I would say if you get into the low 50's throw a tarp over (build a 4 post frame to take weight off the buds).

I've also heard of those outdoor propane heaters in greenhouse.

Thanks for the info and encouragement. This is the plan.... I am putting up curtians made of landscaping cloth that I will pull at night. I have access to electricity and I can put some heaters in if I need to. We live in an area of low humidity and cool nights so the plants have already endured some cool nighttime temps. (mid 40's). It is just the NO. Lights, that are not in full flower and I think they are close. I am a old time gardener, but this is the first outdoor grow for me. I have compleated two small indoor grows with moderate success. 10 oz. first grow, 8 plants. 15 oz second grow, 12 plants. I sure like growing outside better.

Here are todays pics.

I am also growing hops and thinking about using some in my nighty nite tincture.

So the question is will it work?

Cannabis is pretty cold resistant you don't say where you are but they will pull
thru a frost or two. A plastic tarp should be all you need. Make up some poles to keep the tarp
at least a foot above the plants (no condensation) you don't want mold to get a foothold.
They really look magnificent!
Good luck to you and more pics as you progress please.
:weed: keep it green and growing
P.S. Typically NL is a late bloomer.
