ok i have very little mone but i run a clean operation.. i have a growbox with cfl's and i have one good plant that i was going to transplant to a 5gallon bucket.. the thing is tho that i don't have money to buy soil... i have a forest behind my house and i was just wondering if i would be able to take some peatmoss off the top layer of the ground and dig the soil that's under neath it and use that for growing indoors.. my plant also has a little prob with leaves yellowing and i believe it's nitrogen diff.. i am currently feeding with a 1/3 stregnth 20-20-20 solution to try and fix it but when i change the soil i'll slack off the nutrient solution for a little bit to try and let the plant use the nutrients in the new soil... to adjust it's self.. would i be able to use this soil in my growbox??? any sudgestions for me... buying soil is not an option

I've read that if u absolutely have to user soil from ur yard, or in ur case the forrest(whish i had a forrestfor my backyard!), ur supposed to bake the soil on a cookie sheet or like a cake pan to kill off any wierd shit that might be in the soil. open up the windows though, cuz i hear it stinks pretty bad when u do this. As for the yellow leaves, how bigs the plant ur talkin about? And is it flowering already? If it's already flowering then the leaves will eventually turn yellow and the plant will shed them as the plant uses upthe N reserves in the leaves to make buds, and it is totally normal for a plant near completion.

U should be good to transplant then, no prob. When it's like a foot or two tall or more, then it'sreally hard to transplant without damageing roots.
