Outdoor harvest to the trash ...

Hello,

So, this is my first outdoors harvest, at first all went smooth at the start, till the last one month where I believe it all went only down hill from there.

I was away for a week before harvest, came back, and I believe I have mold/rot all over my buds, (Crazy change in weather conditions) with a small amount of fucking spider mites still alive in there. I cut the tree removed as much as I can from bad looking buds, washed it all with H2O2 and dried it. This is how it looks now, and I saw one spider mite walking around inside.

Damn it, I should just throw it away or am I seeing this wrong?

I aint letting that shit into my lungs. But can i at least cook it? or probably that is the same shit.

Thoughts?

Turn it into Kief hash and a lesson for next year. Nothing really bad gets through 90 micron screen in significant amounts so that's a way of salvaging the trics off of flower you dont feel good smoking. Trics are the medicine, grab the trics, ditch the rest.
Never made Kief hash before, with a 90 micron screen? Any links maybe? Would I turn the whole harvest then into Hash or...

Thanks anyway : )

A 90 micron screen will let mold spores through. 90 microns is pretty large when compared to the size of mold spores which can range in size and be as small as 2 microns. That's why HEPA filters filter out down to sizes like 0.3 microns. Lots of bad stuff will go through a 90 micron screen. Dust, pollen, mold, etc... A 90 micron screen won't stop any of that. trichomes are much larger than mold spores so if they can get through there is absolutely no question that mold spores will get through.

If you have access to dry ice get a chunk of that. Dry your weed and then put it in the freezer. 90 micron screen is about 170 mesh size and can be purchased on Amazon. It's sold as silk screen printing material.

3 yards of 160 mesh:

I cut the bottom out of a bucket and attached some mesh. Add weed and broken up dry ice. Let sit for a couple minutes and then shake over something where the kief can be collected. But remember that if the weed is moldy the mold will go through the screen with the trichomes.

Dang
So basically I could turn the whole harvest into Hash w/o throwing anything way?(more then what I’ve already thrown out)

I would make hash with it as the guys said above, but I would probably make some really strong bubble hash out of it, it's as simple as a few bubble hash bags, a bucket and some ice and water and something to stir it but you're taking a major risk if it's moldy. I would probably wash it again in h202 just to make sure as much mold is removed as possible.

This is the way. Search for slab ice/party ice/ice sculpture type places if you have a hard time finding dry ice.

Then use the shift for cooking since it should kill off any of the bad stuff and you are eating instead of smoking.

I never had an experience with moldy buds, but these buds for sure look not so good in comparison to my normal indoor harvest.
Should I make more pics? Does this look like mold? It for sure doesn’t look healthy to me, or like my previous indoor harvest
And there is still for sure spider mites in the buds, in fkn bastards.
Washing it again feels like overkill as i already in washed it.

Yeah take more pics please dude, when you break a bud in half can you see any black mold or white fuzzy stuff? I think once you let it dry for a few weeks the mites should pack up there bags and leave.

A good UV light (lab quality) will light the mold up to a glowing green. You can wash the kief with very cold water running over it until it;s cleen and check it with the UV. When it has no more green glow try it, IF YOU ARE BRAVE ENOUGH.

I can't really say that this works. I have the UV light but no moldy bud to try. It's just what some commercial growers told me. We do wash ours just to make sure there is no bug sh.t in it. I also read that on a website where the ins't an BS. All fact, no guesswork.

Let it dry, then break open some buds with a bright light behind you and black background. If you see whisps or puffs of white "smoke" you should can it.
yeah that puff of white smoke when you break a bud 100% means mold, I had it before, it's like powdery mildew inside of the buds or some shit
