Outdoor grow advice

Hi forum members, new here and was looking for some growing advice.

I currently have a few plants outside in the ground. When I put them out mid-May, I dug tree sized holes and put 3 month Pro-Mix Organic Vegetable feed in the holes. Anyways it has rained in Ontario constantly and the ground is super wet (and not really drying out). Can anything be done about this? The plants have a home-made greenhouse over top of them, but as they are in the ground the ground is still saturated. They are pretty big now but suffing from over-watering and I have no clue how to remedy it with all this rain. I have been folar feeding them so they don't get nute lock out...but that's all I can think of to do.

Thanks

I dunno maybe this needs to be posted in another area, but I was wondering what other medical Ontario patients were doing with this weather outdoors. Maybe someone could help.

Can that home made green house be removed so maybe some extra evaporation will help, or maybe drive some stake holes close by the root zone to help get air and drainage going a little better. What are your temps there?

GB seems to be some kind of outdoor backyard expert........whatcha think boss?

Personally I would try airate the soil. Poke a bunch of holes around the base of the plant with a piece of metal rebar, 12" deep or so. Don't worry about hurting the roots. Vent the greenhouse like green monster suggested.

Run an air pipe down to the roots and bubble for air.
Add a tiny amount of H2O2 to some water and add to help with O2 in the water.
Dig them up and transplant to a container

I have always used piled up earth instead of dug holes...
sounds like you may have to move them to higher ground...while you still have a chance...
most years in Ontario can be hit or miss moisture wise....I would rather add personally
lets hope for a drier fall....

dig a moat around them .... lol a deep one....(: and poke the soil like itsmehigh suggested...
I'm not sure why you used promix ?. You would have been better off with a nice soil with better drainage.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I probably should have used HP or BX but I vegged them in Promix Organic and they seemed to love it.

Maybe if I pour vermiculite in the holes I poke I could absorb a lot of the water? Or should I just poke the holes and that's it? A moat isn't really possible for me. Moving them to higher ground is not really an option, at least I don't think so, they are about 5-6 feet high and 4-5 feet wide at this point.

I would not put or add anything to those holes since I think just that air space will help the root's but maybe a course sand?? Once you do this they may be OK. Keep an eye out and see how the react in a week.

if they are getting real big anyways ..then water will be more of a problem late in the cycle...
right now if bushy and large....let her.them drink.
if your she's stressed already...then some experimentation is in order. with some help you should be able to figure a way to lift ...with out too much disturbance... or maybe a piece of big-o pipe to drain off to a low area.
you can move most plants if you absolutely need to. but it will stress it out at first no matter what...
there are a lot of factors that can come into play

Thanks. This is my first time growing outdoors ever. Probably should have kept them in pots, last summer was the one to put them in the ground.
