Out with the old, in with new (grow)

Day 14 - Flower 5:
PPM is up to 1000. Still using veg nutes to pump full of nitrogen for the rest of the trek through flowering. I will switch to bloom nutes starting tomorrow. I need to do my first complete flush and clean out the res. and trays.

Updated pics. Plants are growing like crazy. Had to do some bending to try to get the faster grow plants down a little and keep my light low for the two slower growing plants that are clearly the blackberry strain.

Well the plants are stretching like crazy. They've been on 12/12 for a little over a week. Buds are starting to form. I will take pics tomorrow. I think I'm going to pick up a screen today and SCROG these bitches. They are just too unwieldy and I like the idea of getting a nice even canopy with these. If not they will have to get LST'ed all over the place and I'm just not looking forward to managing that.

I picked up an A/C unit for the grow room today. $299.00 at Home Depot, should take care of business. I turned it on today and it blows good cold fresh air from outside. The thing actually works so well that i have it blowing directly into the grow room and it's managing to cool my entire bedroom even after cooling the light down.

Definitely a good purchase. I have found that this is really quite the expensive hobby, but once you have the right equipment it's pretty easy and it's very fun.

So without including materials to BUILD the grow closet and the Mylar to wrap it the total that I own in growing related equipment is ~$1749.00. I had no idea when I set out on this venture of hobby growing I would invest so much money into a closet grow space! I'm going to have to get a few grow's out of the way to recoop my costs, but just like any hobby, ya expect it to cost $$$$ to do it right.

I also bartered for quite a few things along the way and that saved a ton of money.

Day 21 (Flower 11):

I took some new pics. The plants are pretty stretched, but I purchased that new portable A/C unit and hooked it up today. Definitely helps control grow room temps. I now can seal the box up all day and the room never goes over 75. The light has been moved down nearly on top of the plants. I have a good size fan blowing across the bulb to move that heat away. Having just a 2'x4' grow space and utilizing a 360cfm exhaust fan and an A/C unit has an intake the room has NO heat issues anymore.

The stretch should continue for a couple more weeks, but I've been gettin' the girls bent around. I don't think I'm going to get the screen for a SCROG although the plants would be perfect because it's too much of a pain in the ass to flush and deal with the screen.

Well, anyway, not that anyone seems to really be looking at this thread...more pics...they'll always be here for me...

Thanks. I'm pretty excited about this next batch. They look pretty good this morning for only being 3 weeks old and in flower for just under 2 weeks.

I can't believe how fast the little buggers grow.

2 weeks flowering about 3 weeks old:

The stretch has continued and buds are forming. The prodominant plant is Banana Kush. There's only a couple of Blackberry's in there and they are pretty small. The bud's are really yellow. I know that when I've smoked Banana Kush in the past I thought it was pretty yellow in color, but the buds are REALLY yellow when they grow. They are branching out a bit more and getting pretty bushy.

The portable A/C is working great. I now have my light like 8" from the tops of my plants. It's ridiculous how cool it is in the grow room and with the fans blowing the 250w light can actually get down pretty low without burning the tops.

try having 4 trays, each containing 55 clones, on one shelf.....having 4 shelves going at once.....now thats a lot, but not that much if they are not rooted.....

i used to sell clones to peeps, 500 at a time.... must say its easier than most think..... a good sized mother will grow 100 clones in 2-4 weeks, depending on nutes,lights,genetics,etc.....

my cuz got busted with 16 1000w hps, nothing under them (they had cropped 3 days earlier) plus just under 500 clones,, and he got nothing but a slap on the wrist (probation) and some community service...
the reasoning is that if the clones are not rooted, they cant be considered plants, just cuttings.... lucky for him they were still about 2-3 days from rooting...

hey laser very nice.thanx for reminding me agin about going hydro!i keep thinking about outside= soil, and indoor = hydro!after seeing how easy it is to clone just using distiled water and a strong double air pump.a week or less and roots.if you get a chance,all, check out a Aquasystem.499.99 if i could only get the plans,oh gosh.some day,but agin very nice.God Bless You,cheers,dr.kleengenes.
