Does anybody know the times for the vegative and flowering stages for outdoor growers in southern california?

I'm no pro here so just shooting from the hipp. Depending on weather conditions in the early spring and if it's a seed or a clone you can probably get outside in late april(so cal) - may. If it was a clone coming off long hours you will have to be carefull to make sure it gets 12 hrs of direct light or suplement light specially if the weather is bad. We tried in the end of march and the weather was cloudy, cool and had a freeze our plants tried to flower so we went through some revegg time. Summer soltice is today. The first day of summer and the longest day of sunlight. The days will get shorter from here on out. Next year I'm not putting nothing out til mid may, maybe June first. Vegg months are June - July :leaf:

Well, it depends on the strains genetics, if it originated close to the equator, how much light, if it has full sun or shade temperature, many factors. I start in a green house in full sun in February and supplement about 2 hours of artificial light and then I let nature do its thing. SEEDS all day though. I bring clones out in the end of may to beginning of june, when i feel there is enough light outside to keep them in veg. I try to run them indoors on 18-6 for a while and when i want to bring them out i rock them on 16-8 for about a week or so. They never really try to bloom. Some of the B-itches do a little bit, but it is because the strains tend to love to flower easily. Hope this helps. DO IT JUMBO.

Also remember, when they start to bloom they will swell up, bigger stems so they can hold the weight and they will grow about 1/3-1/2 the size they were before they were in veg. If they are outdoor. Just let nature do what it does best.

so a week or two or consecutive weeks of no sun / cloudy/cold weather doesn't matter ? Cuz mid april to mid may this year was crappy . :weed:

Tws I agree. medi, I have been growing in nor cali for multiple years and I can promise anything going from one extreme to another extreme, such as ph levels going from super alkaline to acid 8.0 to 1.0 will force it to be a herm or bloom, stress like cutting off hella branches, Or doing a super high stress training. Topping the plant (fim super crop) while doing lst (bending hella branches at once) or going from 90 degrees to 40 degrees in a day, will for sure trigger it to flower. I have seen it happen before. Sure light is a HUGE factor, but it is close minded and single sided to believe that only one thing goes into the factor or your plant possibly flowering early. Climate, geographical location, humidity, stress, strain/genetics, amount of water, ph. I can go on.

you have to make sure you got them fully reverted back to vegg before you put them out or full 12 + hrs of sunlight or they will. :leaf:

what mattered mid april to may is the time the sun came up and went down i think theres not enough hours of light during that early in the season at least in california if i put a month old plant out in april it will flower

yeah I feel it. I started some seeds in a green house in febuary or march and they are still in veg and have been since the day they sprouted. On the other hand, i had a few bloom. It really depended on the strain.

naw scrizz its not about the strain only that matters too tho but a seed is less likely to flower right away .. like if your inside and hit the switch 12/12 on a clone u can see flowers in just days while if u sprout a seedling and try to flower it its still a seedling and will take like a month most likely and then i think it just being so small and the weather being so cold that time of yaer just keeps it in like a suspended state where it dosnt do shit lol ive thrown seeds out randomly in the winter that hung out and grew to about the size of a small clone over a several week period and still werent flowering in april but then a dog ate that one haha i think it matters alot about seeds or clones tho and not just the strain.

Oh I know bro. Also if you try to flower a seed too early, it isn't stable and ready to flower. In nature no one flips the 12/12 after it just sprouted and has grown for 3 weeks. There is a life cycle. Like I stated previously. There are MANY MANY factors.

for bagseed would you say that getting them germinated and planted by may 1st is fine? and maybe keep them indoors for the first 3weeks under 24hour light before moving them outside for the remainder of the time is fine?
