what up Rollitup.. it's getting cold... days are getting short.. time to start growing indoors

Been busy with school but exams are almost over so here is my little grow journal

I've stepped things down a little bit

I'm just using a 250w MH and then I have a conversion bulb (magnetic ballast) that I will be switching to later

Using a little tiny 2 x 2 grow tent.

I've cracked 6 seeds with 5 down in soil

3 x Querkle - TGA
2 x BlockheadxAk-47 - Beanhoarder
1 x Blueberry - not sure who the breeder is.. I doubt its the Dutch Passion I bought it from a headshop here in town.

I'll be growing in soil ...

right now just in an organic potting mix I bought.

I'll be mixing up my own super soil with bat guano, bonemeal, green sand .. should probably do that soon and let it cook for a little while...

This is only my third run indoors and I've had problems with burning and soil pH the first two times so I'm going to keep it pretty simple this time.. I've got a little bit of bottled General Organics if I notice any deficiencies but otherwise I'll be just doing dry amendments and AACT's

Love to have you guys along for the ride. I'll try to post random shit to keep things interesting too.

well whatever works i would just watch out for over saturation right now because that soil looks like it needs perlite, a lot of it. i was gonna recommend a soiless mix but i figured you had already had some opinions on the 2, the only thing i will say is organic soil is easy, but yield will be less if you dont feed, i would still feed, but less often and a key times.

I've got some vermiculite in there... does that not function in a similar manner? It doesn't have the same size it seems the vermiculite is quite small..

I'll be definitely finding some perlite before my first transplant.

no not really. they are both good substances but perlite will provide better drainage than verm. the verm will provide some but it hold some water but not as much as other substances.

you should try and put some Espoma Organic garden lime in your soil mix it will help balance your PH to a good lvl for soil. i have been ammending with it for a while now and havent had any PH issues.

I added a healthy amount of lime to it.. I have the pellet dolomitic lime.. I crush it as much as I can between my hands to turn it into powder as much as possible

Or a heavy duty coffee grinder, a nice stainless steel hand crank , they can be expensive thou. Cheap electric ones will break really quick lol my second choice would be the brick and the floor... I gotta put my seabird guano in a grinder thou

ah yes.. gotcha :joint::eyesmoke:

I couldn't find powdered anywhere :D

Looked all over town and could only find pellet style lime

Having trouble finding perlite too this time of year..

My blueberry finally got a tap root showing so I'll likely plant her down this evening or tomorrow. Planning on running these bitches on 18/6 for the next week and then switching to 12/12. I don't have the space for 6 plants in this tiny tent so I'd like to have them sexed asap.

If only there was another way to tell.. earlier.. anyone know of any way?
