Now we got a LP threating to sell cannabis products with out a licence.
Gotta love that entrepreneurial spirit.

"Brent Zettl, CEO of licensed producer Prairie Plant Systems Inc., said his company’s lawyer sent Health Canada a letter last week stating that with or without a final inspection it will begin selling its oils by Dec. 17. Mr. Zettl, whose company has grown marijuana under one federal system or another for the past 15 years, said the oils have been ready for sale since Oct. 18 and 1,600 clients who registered for the new product are getting tired of waiting."
i hope the RCMP raid PPS...HAHAAA

the "oil" isnt capped at 3% like you would think. Its 3% by volume not 3% thc.... so technically, you can make something that has 30mg THC per ml ...
Now why would anyone want to do that when they can make their own, far better, for far less and by far safer?

make something that has 30 mgs in it???HUH????

I want to be able to have 1000 mg's of pure canna...thc/cbd/and all the other, 0ver 100 cannabinoids as well..

so....please explain how you would get 30 mgs, of what, in what again??? You lost me.

Make a concentrate (co2, BHO whatever) that lets say has 90% thc ( this is always by weight)... so a gram would have 900mgs of thc (also all the other cannabinoids but those arent regulated so the sky is the limit) for argument sake lets say they purged it and the end product was wax... so you have 90% thc wax.... this, is not allowed to be sold as its beyond the allowable perameters...

What the LP's will do.. is take the 90% thc wax, decarb it, and mix it with a carrier oil, like coconut oil, or soy....

so if they take lets say 100ml of coconut oil and add 3ml of the 90% wax (ml, not grams, this is volume not weight) you end up with a concoction that is allowed to be sold. as its less than 3% cannabinoid by volume.

3ml of melted wax works out to be roughly 4 grams give or take...
you would be left with 103 ml of oil that contains 3600mg of THC ( 4 grams @ 900mg/g)

So, 1 ml would have 34mg of THC in this scenario...

so 1 tablespoon (14 ml) of this oil, would have about 500mg of THC.... this, if made correctly, would get you WRECKED if you ingested a meesly tablespoon....

you can simply divide the number of "00" capsules, which is a gram by volume with SG taken into consideration by 1000

or divide the "number of mg's" needed say 25 mg into 1000 mg which will give you a "number" of dosages with lecithin and coconut oil in each "00" capsule..gel or vegetable even,,(:

1000/25=40..... "00" caps
so 39 mgs(edit Mils)... 10% Lethicin and 90% cocomnut oil mixed with 1000 mg's or I gram or 1 mil of canna

40 .....25 mg caps....

I still say the shit med patients produce is FAR superior because its made with AAA top choice...
Not SWHAGS bottom of the Barrel floor sweepings !!! :spew:
just sayin

and thanks for the help.

The stuff is the strongest medication I have ever taken myself. The best part...

Sorry not really sure what you mean.... only thing i do understand is when you say "a gram by volume" is worng so i think the rest of your assumtions/math is wrong... just saying, a gram is a measure of weight, and a milliliter would be a measure of volume.... you can have a ml of water and a ml of liquid mercury... they both will displace the same amount of volume, 1ml, but they both will not weigh 1 gram...

a gram by weight is 1000 mg by volume...with SP figured into it.

each fluid weighs differently by volume with specific gravity figured in.

figure of speech...

ya...its all wrong..sorry. just tryin to help eh.

dude you must be smokin on something feirce....

a gram IS weight, it is 1000th of a kilogram.... a mg (miligram) is 1000th of a gram.... all weights....

a liter is 1000 mililiters (ml) these are volumes

Volume is how much space it takes up... weight is how heavy it is... completely different units of measure.... there is no such thing as a gram of volume....

i dunno what SP is...

re-reading it im getting confused. might be the lemon haze i just dab'd i dunno maybe im wrong

yer not wrong ... I should have said mils instead of mgs

I explained how to make up 25 mg/capsules with a gram or 1000mg's of oil mixed with coconut oil and lecithin.
you can say .001 if you like....
if people want to know about it ,,,they'll find what they need ...

It doesn't matter how you do the math. If your starting material is schwag...the end, watered down product is just going to be $280/30ml bottle of liquid schwag!

Dose for Dose: THC limits in LP Cannabis Oil vs. other cannabinoid products

By Adam Greenblatt September 1, 2015

Updated Dec 7, 2015.

Several Licensed Producers may now produce (and soon sell) cannabis oil, which is broadly defined as a liquid vegetable oil containing dried marijuana or cannabis. Peace Naturals, one of two of the first Licensed Producers to get approval to produce cannabis oil in July of this year, received final approval to sell today. Several other LP’s are expected to see final sale approval in the coming weeks.

Peace Naturals’ announced on Dec. 7, 2015, that they will be selling two oils, Cerene, made with a MCT (Medium Chain Triglyceride) Coconut oil with 5.8 mg of thc/ml and Omego, made with a Chia Oil, with 25 mg of THC/ml. Cerene sells for $125 for 30 ml, while Omega sells for $240 for 30 ml.

In October, CanniMed announced their first formulations; Hydropothecary has set a price benchmark; and currently15 companies are licensed to produce cannabis oil.

This cannabis oil may not contain more than 30mg of THC per mL, and if sold in capsule form may not exceed 10mg THC per unit.

At first glance, these limits are arbitrary; patients are actually allowed to possess and produce more cannabis products (using lawfully obtained cannabis, of course!) than they are permitted to purchase from Licensed Producers.

But upon closer inspection, the THC limits proposed actually reflect doses and concentrations of pharmaceutical forms of delta-9 THC, as well as dried cannabis and common edible products.

Marinol (dronabinol)* was the first synthetic THC product in capsule form available in pharmacies; the American FDA approved it in 1984. It is used to stimulate appetite and promote weight gain in people living with AIDS. It is also used as an anti-emetic for patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy.

Marinol capsules contain synthetic delta-9-THC suspended in sesame oil and glycerin; they are sold in 2.5mg, 5mg, and 10mg formats. In other words, the maximum quantity of THC in an MMPR-compliant cannabis oil capsule (10mg) is the equivalent to the highest dose of Marinol.

(*Marinol is no longer available in Canada; Cesamet (Nabilone), which is a synthetic CB1 receptor agonist and THC analogue, has replaced it.)

Sativex is an oro-mucosal spray derived from whole-plant cannabis manufactured by GW Pharmaceuticals. It has been available in Canadian pharmacies for quite some time. Sativex is indicated for the treatment of spasticity in Multiple Sclerosis.

Each spray of Sativex is 1/10th ml, and contains 2.7mg of THC and 2.5mg of CBD. This means that each milliliter of Sativex contains 27mg of THC and 25mg of CBD. 27mg is just 3mg shy of the MMPR’s 30mg/ml limit for THC in cannabis oil.

As for edible products like baked goods, the THC limits on MMPR cannabis oil also reflect average concentrations of cannabis butters and oils used to make edibles.

In dispensaries the potency of edibles and baked goods (outside of Vancouver of course, where they are now banned) varies quite considerably; a low or entry-level dose might be 10-40mg of THC per serving, and high- or extra-strength doses can be between 100-300mg or more. These doses can be easily replicated using MMPR cannabis oil.

If 60mL of cannabis oil at the maximum allowable potency were used (30mg THC/mL), each brownie could contain a maximum of 150mg of THC (5ml x 30mg), which is quite comparable to products one would make at home or find in a dispensary.

A cannabis-infused chocolate bar with 10mg thc/cbd doses from The Venice Cookie Co. in California
Two main recipe factors determine the cannabinoid content of a baked good: the potency (mg/mL) of the cannabis oil used, and the total quantity of cannabis oil in the final serving. We’ll use this Triple Chocolate Brownie recipe from Rose Reisman to illustrate.

The recipe calls for ¼ cup (60ml) of vegetable oil and makes 12 brownies. This means each brownie contains 5mL of vegetable oil (60mL divided by 12 brownies).

This recipe is easily medicated by substituting the vegetable oil with cannabis oil. If 60mL of cannabis oil at the maximum allowable potency were used (30mg THC/mL), each brownie could contain a maximum of 150mg of THC (5ml x 30mg), which is quite comparable to products one would make at home or find in a dispensary. (NB: this basic example does not consider loss or conversion factors)

150mg of THC is roughly equal to: 15 marinol capsules, half a bottle of sativex (50 sprays); 1 gram of 15% THC cannabis; 2-4 joints or vaporizer cartridges; 0.2g of resin.

So while the THC limits on MMPR cannabis oil are arbitrary in a sense, and they certainly don’t reflect the potency of smokeable concentrates like shatter, they do indeed reflect existing doses of pharmaceutical THC, and also of common edible products.
