I`m thinking on using it this year, I hear to just top dress a small amount every month or two so its more easily controllable incase of a nutrient burn or something. It is mainly effected by temperature so when it`s hotter it releases nutrients when the plant needs it most but I fear that if the soil is very dry the nutrients may burn the plant.

Angryblackman and SenorBrownWater both have very accurate comments.
That is in fact a whole lot of N though especially for blooming. If you're hellbent on using time release then look at the other Osmocote formulas. I spotted some at the local Kmart that's a 10-10-10 formula (3month). Sitting right beside rooting powder

Guerilla yes, just looking for something easy, maybe an organic super soil? I was something easier than subs super soil.

Have you looked at AN heavy harvest. You only have to apply it three times throughout the season.
Im giving it a shot this year

Wow. A lot of people bombing on things I am not 100% sure they know about. Just because the bag says that it lasts for a grow season, does not mean our grow season.
Osmocote feeds up too 110 days. Its gone mostly around 100 days. Our Sativas can take 100 days to be ready! So if you have a long grow season, or are doing sativas... Then use it to start your dirt. If you like using man made stuff. I am not here to bash any one on how the grow or what they do.
It can be used to start as a feeder, then move into flower stuff later. Like I said, as long as your not pulling your plants out of the ground in 100 days.
This has been brought to you by, the more you know.

Ive read that the 15-9-12 formula works well and it will not burn your plants... but i think its the plus formula...Google it ......ive seen pics and read good reviews compared to AN heavy harvest

I started with that chemical fertilizer years ago, then switched to something better. In fact, Epsoma should be giving me a commission...cuz' I'm pretty sure I've sold more of their products unintentionally posting these links than their top sales reps!. Home Depot carries most of their products:

I mix it into pre-existing soil upon planting, then simply toss a handful as top dress in mid-summer and again in early fall...and rain does the rest!.

FWIW I did use Osmocote in my first grow and burnt the shit out of my plants. Could have been the application but as I said before, you can't control the dosage or application once it's in the pot.
