Oriah-Scrog-400w CMH-Jillybean-GL80

Hello friends. This is my 2nd run with this setup, but with only one plant in a 10gal air pot. Using only Flora Nova Bloom in slightly amended Roots soiless. This is my first tent of what will be a 6 tent perpetual medical garden. I am now a huge believer in the Phillips master color ceramic metal halide bulbs, and of more light in less space. Scrog addict seeing what we can do. Heres some shots of whats going on...




First three were from my first run with this setup. The last 2 is this run, and my keeper pheno of TGA's Jillybean. Shes a good growing lady, and had the best orange candy smell of the three girls i got. She is top't and strip't down to 4 main branches. I have high hopes for this run.

That's the 3x3 Growlab right? I have a couple of the 4x4's and LOVE them!

Ok friends, its been not quite a week sense i re-homed her. I think shes just now getting over that and comfortable. Temps are a little warm at about 83ish... so an AC unit will be on the way soon. Other then that she is looking good. Going to veg her till she fills this thing (or about), which i dont think should take more then another 2-3 weeks.

Music to my ears, every time I hear from someone using CMH, especially the Philips MasterColor, they say pretty much the same thing, "THERE FUCKING AWESOME!", SUB'D FOR SURE!
I'm starting the build on my 4'x6'x2' (the 2' part sucks but its what I have to work with) closet grow box tomorrow, I'll be using (---->THIS<----) 6" air cooled hood with a 400W Philips MasterColor CMH bulb on one end and then I'll be custom fitting a 250W HPS on the other end of the hood and together from what I hear they produce INCREDIBLE RESULTS! I also have the option of using some 65W CFL's on double tap sockets for supplemental lighting if necessary. OK, I didn't meant to hijack the thread, excellent job Oriha, keep up the good work and I look forward to your progress.

Hey you earned it bud, Liked post & +Rep for ya, hey what exactly is a journal? Obviously I don't have one going, should I? I haven't started the build yet as my friend flaked on me yesterday but he's supposed to come over today so we can at least get the box built, wiring/lighting, ventilation/ducting can come later I just want the dam box built ASAP! I'll start a thread on it for sure though, I'm pretty sure I'll be growing Ogiesel (OG Kush x Sour Diesel) as my friend has several clones and teens just ready to go and from what I hear the strain is killer.

hell ya that sounds good! Just maybe take a few picks of your box and setup. A journal is just like a diary/thread of your grow. Anyway, thanks again friend.

Things are looking great!
Now that I've got a few rounds under my belt I'm going to start building/using the NEWS method and try my hand at SCROG.

I'm going to make 3x3 or 3.5x3.5 scrog frames and think I will start with 1 to test things out and then build a total of 6 to get rockin. My hope is to have 2 ready for harvest each month and get set up and comfortable to have a constant rotation. I will be going with Jillybean and Chocolope. I'm waiting to see how many ladies I've got with Jillybean and what pheno comes of them.

Are you following the NEWS technique exactly like they do in the book?

Thanks for the kind words friend! And no, haha, im not following it 100% like they tell you to. Im not cutting it back to the only 64. Probably should, but its working out for me so far. Also, if i were you, i would make your scrog frame, correspond with your light, in terms of watts per sq ft. So if your using a 1000w light, figure out if you want to to go with like 60w per sqft, or 80w or 100w.

One thing i learned from scottyballz is, you dont need a huge light to get good yields. Just better use of light. To me thats what the West Coast Masters book lacks, is a focus on using the light wiser. If Scotty can get a pound with one 400w in a 19" x 29" space, one could dial in a bigger light in the same way, and kick major ass! Mylar + a smaller space (with still ideal atmosphere conditions) = more watts per sqft = more flowers.

Anyway, the 6 plants rotating is what i want to do as well. Figure a 4 week veg, 8 week flower (or however you want to work out a 12 week split), means you can take one down and put a new one up every 2 weeks. Nice rice. lol sorry for the go off. I love this shit!

Ok so i have learned that my air pot is actually a 5 gal air pot... Bought them used from someone thinking they were 10gal. Oh well, shes loving it anyway. Will be getting some bigger ones though.

Anyway, here she is, 4.5 weeks in. I got my super soil mixed up 5 weeks ago. I ran out of my flora nova bloom and ph crap. So im done with it. Top dressed with super soil, and its all water and occasional organic blackstrap from now on. I am so glad to be going organic. I know the results are going to blow shit away. She is reeking the room with her amazing orange candy smell. Love it!

Stoked, just added 100 watts of T5. Going to use them as a tool to help growth and regulate stretch (thats the idea anyway). 500w total, hell yeah buddy! lol
Anyway, had to put a canopy net on this girl, cuz shes already getting too heavy of buds, and she still has 3 weeks to go. Going to fade a good bit, but should help the smell/taste. Stellar orange candy utopia.
