Flushing is for fixing problems..ie nute lockout due to salt buildup, drenching for bugs...all you need to do is instead of continuing feedings at same dose, lower til water only for last week. You will do great.

Cant really flush dry organics, not unless the soil is already out of gas.

I also do water only, no flushing, no black ash, no foul taste, no harsh throat, most of that negative stuff comes from unhealthy flowering plants or a rush/lazy dry.

Flushing is a made up term used by synthetic/mineral salt cannabis growers. There is no practice of flushing in any other horticultural practice that I’m aware of. If you’re using an amended soil flushing will do nothing for you. The plant is in control in a balanced healthy soil ecosystem. Sounds like you aren’t adding any sort of liquid nutrients so you’re already on the road to a healthy harvest. Good luck

organic can be treated the same as chemical nutrient .. if you have accumulations at the harvest you will feel it in the smoke ..
both are disgusting .. but maybe with hydro nutrient you will have a darker/harder disgusting ash on the junt

i always give a few weeks of pure water when i grow in organic .. and im a light feeder ..
i dont want my plants to yellow .. they must stay green and healthy till i cut, i just allow them to eat the remaining salts in the medium ..
try both my friend an d you wil see

They should rename flushing because it's not the same thing as dumping a ton of water through a pot. People used to do that because they thought you could wash the nutrients out of a plant. You can't.

Flushing just means stopping nutrients at some point so the plant stops producing new sugars and starches that provide a harsh smoke. It's not necessary and you'll probably yield more if you don't flush, but you have to cure for several months instead to achieve the same effect, and ain't nobody got time for that.

It doesn't matter if you're organic or synthetic. The only difference is the timing. Organic takes time to break down before it's bio-available so you have to stop feeding earlier to make up for that lag time.

^^^^ yes thats why i dont ike the term "flushing". some will take the pant in the shower and rinse it heavily
it will disturb the soil and lead to deficiencies/problems
plants dont like fast changes ... in hydro its the same with ph/ec
but slowly dissolve the remaining fertilizer in the soil by watering with water is another good technique to steer the plant to produce the max yield/better resin content on the last days

try to have a healthy green plant whn you start to flush .. but not too dark green, just the right color
if you do then after 2 weeks of water ( approx 6 waterings in soil) your plant will still be green and healthy, maybe with just some yellowing leaves from the bottom

thats how i got the best quality, and i did some side by side

the yellowing(senescence) myth is imo a broscience, and i used it for years wondering why i was fuckn my weed on the last days

will be interesting to see if more studies turn out the same way
More nitrogen = less flavor.
I've seen how people pucker up to grapes, oranges etc in the southwest US, where most these quality killers reside and spread their bad info from, something wrong with those people. They call smell flavor, flavor "harsh" and water cured hay "smooth" Those taste test judges likely aren't experts on flavor just pros at growing/selling dispensary mersh.

Vine ripening is a myth to these legal industry types, lung expansion is considered a bad thing, they pretend flavor comes from terpene molecules not sugar alcohol and acid molecules. Cottonmouth doesn't even exist in these regions, Colorado, Arizona, Socal, which is the side effect associated with high levels of flavor molecules, exclusively. Vaping quality bud without a gallon of drink on hand is impossible.

These same people claim to cure their bud in 2 weeks and that by 1-2 month it's "old" and "lost its terpenes",while the rest of the country is aging bud up to a year for increased flavor. Want to know if a grower is full of shit? Ask him how his bud improves over time. If he can't get excited about the positive changes in his bud over a multi month period, he's an NPC, or growing trash, probably both. Most people check both boxes these days.
