  • First of all, I've been lurking on here for way too long (over 5 years) to not post anything, so here we go. I have a few grows under my belt, everything from aeroponics to soil and CFLs to HIDs. I've experimented with a lot of techniques in the past and have finally settled on soil under 600w lights for this run. Also, I am going to try out superroots Air Pots for the first time as I have heard only great things.

I've been slacking on writing this up, this grow actually started at the beginning of september, so these first few posts will be recapping what has happened the last few months.

    Veg Room Equipment:

    4.5x4.5x7 tent
    4' 8 bulb t5 setup x2
    4' 4 bulb t5 setup
    6'' 435cfm inline fan
10,000 BTU royal sovereign A/C unit
Superroots Air Pots (various sizes) x 40
    Roots Organic 707 Soil Mix
Oregonism XL, Roots Organic Nutrient Line, BMO Super Plant Tonic
Stealth RO 100 Reverse Osmosis System

And most importantly 50 TGA subcool beans, 10 different strains:

Ace of Spades, Agent Orange, The Flav, Qush, Jillybean, Kaboom, Space Bomb, Plushberry, Cheese Quake, and of course Jack the Ripper

    The Grow:

In late august started a journey with 6 young mommas (freshly rooted cuts off of my other moms) from my home up north down to where I currently reside (so cal). Vortex, Qleaner, MILF, Lavender, GDP, and Permafrost. They suffered 2 days of 100+ degree heat hidden amongst gear under my truck canopy, which gave them quite a bit of stress. The permafrost didn't make it
To top it off, they had originally been on 20/4 light, but I had to leave them outside for about 10 days while I found somewhere to live which caused them to start flowering (given the light cycle in late august/early september). Once I moved in and settled down I put them back inside and changed the light back to 20/4.

9/9 - Moved young mommas inside under t5 light, transplanted into airpots. Already started popping pistils and forming little bud sites, need to be reverted to veg
putting them under a 20/4 cycle

    9/12
    - Apparently while outside for 10 days the mommas got thrips and whiteflies...Jesus. Sprayed with neem, got some sticky traps, trying to get my hands on ladybugs but apparently there is a nationwide shortage??? who knows if what the hydro store people say is true.

9/15 - Placed all of the TGA seeds on wet paper towels to germinate, 2 days later 90% had popped taproots. They were potted directly into roots organic 707 mix and put under t5s with 6400k bulbs and watered with pH 7.0 RO water mixed with a small amount of BMO Super Plant Tonic (great stuff). Sprayed mommas with neem again, don't see any thrips or whiteflies but that doesn't mean they're not there...

9/18 - Only 1 seed hasn't popped, the rest are in soil just starting to emerge. Still battling thrips and whiteflies in small numbers with neem. I barely see any adults but there is damage on the chlorophyl of lower leaves that is indicative of larvae activity. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if they show up again.

9/23 - Almost all the seedlings are showing cotyledons, many starting to form 1st set of true leaves. Mommas looking way better, still making single leaflets though.

Here are some pictures of the babies. Especially interesting are the two sets of JTR twins (double taproot pictured), and the trifolate kaboom which is more vigorous than any other plant in the garden. sorry about the shitty camera...

10/5 - Had an accident about 5 days ago where the circuit blew on my A/C causing temps to rise over 107 for a few hours in the room!!! Scared the shit out of me but the mommas and the babies managed to live through it! This plant always amazes me
The leaves are showing some burnt spots on the tips and sides, but that is a minor setback compared to what could've happened (total death and destruction). Luckily I had transplanted a bunch of them a few days before this happened so they didn't dry out in their tiny coco pots

10/15 - Topped mommas, transplanted some seedlings into bigger pots. Thrips and Whiteflies 95% gone, still unsure where the lurkers are but they're out there...

10/18 - Babies are a month old and looking beautiful. Anywhere from 8-15 inches tall, some more vigorous than others. A bunch have yellow/crispy leaves from the roasting hot day, so aesthetically they don't look great but they are super healthy. As you can see the mommas are still throwing single leaflets, but starting to improve a little bit. They are super wilty in this picture because I went too long between waterings
sorry its so blurry - i need to get a new camera desperately. check out the kaboom trifolate looking beautiful

10/20 - Repotted a bunch of the babies into airpots, trimmed off yellowing/crispy leaves from the 107 degree day.

10/21 - Finally got my hands on some ladybugs, they're loving the garden and munching up the helpless larvae
plus they get stuck on my clothes and then i find them everywhere throughout the house which is the best. what a beautiful beneficial little creature. hoping to get some mantis' when they are available, just hoping they wont munch my ladybugs (wishful thinking i know)

  • 10/28 - Mommas and babies are looking good, some of the youngins are starting to show tiny preflowers, hoping for ladies!!! Started to setup the flower room today in preperation. Here's what I got so far.

    Flower Room:

Secret Jardin Darkroom Pro II Tent roughly 8x8x7
    (7) 6'' Air Cooled Hoods
A bunch of Hortilux 600 HPS bulbs, one 600 MH
    (7) Digital Ballasts of varying styles
    13,000 BTU SoleusAir A/C unit
    Dehumidifier
6'' 435cfm inline fan for cooling lights
    (25) 4.6 gallon superroots air pots
    C.A.P. MLC-8XT light controller/timer

11/01 - Wired up the MLC today. Had to buy 8/2 Romex and a 50-amp breaker, wire through my garage, up into my attic, and then down into the flower room. This part was significantly harder than hooking up the MLC itself, which is just hooking up three wires. Plugged in 3 lights and its running fine, hoping that I wont fry my ballasts because the MLC put off 220v power and I don't know what my ballasts are wired for internally. Took apart one of the ballasts and it doesnt seem adjustable at all...are there ballasts that can take both 220 or 110 without having to manually flip a switch or change a wire or something??? Would be great to know just for safety.
IMG_0021.jpghere it is just sitting on the floor of the tent before I mounted it.

11/02 - Many of the preflowers are starting to develop enough to be determinable. So far about 5 females (positive because they have pistils
) and 8 males (pretty sure because they be lookin like nuttss) Put the supposed males into another closet under a t5 as the beginning of a quarantine/seperation regime. Took cuts off of a bunch of the teens and mommas so that I can have something to flower ASAP.

11/03 - Ran out of rockwool taking cuts last night so I had to run and grab more this morning. Continued to take cuts off mommas and teens, fimmed a few of the teens as well, took top cuts off the moms to keep them bushy.

11/04 - Took cuts from a bunch of the supposed males. About 10 in question now. Lots and lots of cuts from mommas and teenies.

IMG_0010.jpgIMG_0011.jpgIMG_0015.jpgIMG_0016.jpgIMG_0017.jpgIMG_0018.jpgIMG_0019.jpgPictures of the veg room with all of the ladies/undetermined.

IMG_0024.jpgIMG_0028.jpgIMG_0030.jpgIMG_0031.jpgIMG_0033.jpgIMG_0034.jpgPictures of the flower room which is currently acting as the quarantine for males. A few shots of the one surviving JTR twin (all the other twins are now singles :-() showing how crazy the stem is. It is a flat stem...never seen anything like it before but its like a popsicle stick with the thin side facing vertically. Pretty crazy mutant genetics. Quick shot of the 1 hood I have setup with my only MH bulb in there. Will post more pictures of the tent once I hang all of the lights.

11/13- First roots starting to show from some of the cuts. 4 out of 5 GDP already rooted and popping out the bottom of the rockwool all over. God damn. Almost all other cuts have no visible roots except a few Plushberry, Jillybean, and Agent Orange. Bought some more flats and took a bunch more cuts from now known ladies and males. 21 ladies, 15 men. A few still left to show. lots and lots of cuts now.

    IMG_0044.jpgIMG_0046.jpgIMG_0049.jpgIMG_0050.jpgIMG_0062.jpgIMG_0065.jpg
Picture of my vortex momma. Cool crazy branching structure and super sativa dominant leaves. Next shot is a super healthy GDP cut. Nug porn is the last few grams of Permafrost that I have to my name. Very disappointed I lost this momma :wall: Wish i had a better camera to show y'all how dank this is. Smell is delicious and sweet - unlike anything I have ever smelt before even other permafrost. May have to do with the fact that it was cured and then put straight into a Herb Preserve jar, which has kept that shit fresh and delicious for months.

11/14 - Took final cuts off of the known males before giving them the chop. I am saving the genetics for a friend but he wont be able to pick them up for a while so I'm keeping them somewhat paused in time sexually by cutting them. Lots of male leaf in a bag. Any suggestions. Rick simpson oil anyone? are there still beneficial medical substances in male tissue? would be great to know...

Put a bunch of rooted GDP cuts as well as some female F1 cuts into Roots 707 soil in plastic party cups. Sprinkled Oregonism on the roots before transplant, and then watered with RO water/super plant tonic. A lot of F1 cuts showing tiny roots, waiting a few days for more to develop before transplant.

K now we are now mostly up to date, there will be more posts with pictures to come over the next few days when I have some free time. What do y'all think??

Breakthrough today....I figured out the password to my old account!!! So here we are, welcome back Cann. Might have to start posting under this name now, we will see how it goes. Crazy to look back on old shit and see how far I have come, I was just a kid when I made this account and I still I remember staying up till 2 AM every night reading threads on RIU instead of doing my hw, which it turns out was the best decision I could've ever made :) I'll post some updates on the ladies later, my shit is still not working for pictures or smileys (besides this one cause i type it out :)) or formatting etc like so many others on RIU at the moment, hoping this will get fixed soon so I can show y'all the progress. Sorry about the lack of spaces, it wont let me!!! Hoping to hit up the black friday sale at my local hydro store tomorrow, promises of up to 50% off :) need me some inline fans, nutes, and a big ol' carbon filter cause these ladies are going to start to get stankkkky. Anyone have an answer to my 220v vs 110v input for digital ballasts question? Just want to make sure I'm not destroying my ballasts by giving them straight 220 without having switched some internal setting... Happy Thanksgiving to all, let us thank cannabis for being such a wonderful plant. Don't know bout y'all but I'm giving my ladies extra attention today, sendin em good lovin vibes even when I'm not in the room. Thankkkkk youuu ladiesssss

Also I gotta say thanks and give props to folks specifically
Looks great man. Ill be watching for sure.
First to Oriah for reppin the PNW my homeland and for growing some outstanding single plant SCROGs, you are an inspiration to many! Showed a friend your thread the other day and he couldn't believe it. Literal jaw drop like I haven't seen in a while. Hope to see you round here every once in a while :)
looks good brother!:weed:
and secondly to nugs for mastering the technique of mainlining and then sharing it with the world in the most informative thread ever. You are an artist using plants as your medium, and it is beautiful to watch. Thank you for sharing your work with everyone! Can't wait to start experimenting with my F1 cuts and create some art of my own :) its bondage time. I'll be sure to post pictures of it here of course

Thanks a ton for the props man, i really appreciate it.

And about your ballast, im sorry i cant really help, lol. But did you try calling the manufacture and asking? I bet they'd know better then anyone.

:hump: the system is finally fixed!!! i've been waiting to post pictures since the 19th, so this is going to be another huge post. I'm posting under this account, Cann, now that I have access to it - hopefully this doesn't confuse anyone. So without further adieu

11/15 – Cleaned flower tent, moved all known females from veg into flower tent but light cycle is still set at 18/6. 20 plants in the flower tent not 21 because what I thought was a “female” agent orange popped a nut so I cut it. Here are the stats: put 50 seeds in towels, 48 germinated, about 43 actually surfaced and continued to grow. After a month there were 38 (107 degree day did some damage from which a few didnt recover) One of them was crazy stunted and growing horribly so I culled it a few weeks back, leaving 37 as the final count. Not the greatest, but its better than nothin  and luckily the strains I am really interested in had a lot of survivors so that is good. The count is as follows:

3 Plushberry, 1 Jillybean, 2 Kaboom, 1 Agent, 2 Qush, 2 Jack the Ripper, 4 The Flav, 3 Ace of Spades, 1 Cheese Quake, 1 Space Bomb, 1 Mystery that is one of the ten, I just lost the label at some point. To me it looks like a Plushberry or Space Bomb, very unsure though. I guess we will find out soon enough

They are all currently under a 600 MH and a 600 HPS, both air-cooled hoods so they are about 2 feet away from the canopy. Today I transplanted over 15 of the ladies into their final 17.5L (4.6 gal) air pots, some are still in 5L (1.3 gal) air pots, and some are in 3-4 gallon Plant Warrior pots that I got for free and want to compare vs. the air pots. Sprinkled Oregonism on the roots of course and watered with RO water as always. I need to pickup a good pH and ppm meter for reading runoff and measuring nutrient levels, just need to get the $$$ first. Thinking all should be roughly in line though as I am using strictly RO water and feeding nutrients once a week or less. Spotted a few thrips and fucking whiteflies, so I went down to the hydro store to pick up some azamax, but when I told the dude I was using azamax on thrips he said it wouldn’t kill them, and gave me a product called ENDALL (USDA Organic listed of course). I sprayed ENDALL as per the instructions on both rooms, although I may have applied a tiny bit too much because it was dripping off the leaves and the instructions said not to let that happen... Also the instructions said to apply it before a dry period so it doesn’t get washed off, so I left it on the leaves for a few days. Currently no thrips or whiteflies visible, we will see what happens in a few days.

11/16 – Decided it was time for a project. Been thinking about buying an EZ Cloner, but they are way too overpriced for my liking, so I decided to make a DIY version. Went to Home Depot, Walmart, and the hydro store and picked up:
10’ of ½’’ PVC
(4) ½’’ PVC elbows
(3) ½’’ PVC T’s
(1) PVC threaded male to ½’’ female adapter (for connecting to the pump)
(20) 360 degree misting sprayers
255 Gallon water pump
Air pump, air line, air stones
14 Gallon Rubbermaid tote
(35) neoprene EZ Cloner inserts
Floating thermometer

I already had a drill and tin snips…

Total cost was around $65 – much better than the $200 that hydro stores charge for EZ cloners.

First, cut the PVC into pieces and assemble a rectangle with a bar across the middle using the 4 elbows and 3 T’s. Not sure how many inches etc. because I just eyeballed it. Then, with the center T’s hole facing down, drill 10 holes somewhat equally spaced in the top of the PVC. These holes should be just smaller than the diameter of your sprayers so that you can thread them successfully. Make sure not to go all the way through when you drill, only the top of the tube needs a hole. At this point you should disassemble the system and clean out all of the plastic bits, otherwise your misters will clog almost immediately. Once it’s clean reassemble everything and thread your misters into place. Add a piece of PVC (clean of plastic bits!) to act as a vertical stand for the rectangle. This piece will connect to the pump on the bottom of the tub and the T joint at the top. Make the piece long enough so that the misters are about 2’’ under where your cuts will be (for me this was 6’’). Clean out your tub so that there are no plastic bits left, attach the pump to the bottom with suction cups, and screw the male end of the adapter into the pump. Attach the vertical piece of PVC to the female end of the adapter as well as the T, and voila the lower part of the cloner is born. Hook up your air pump to some air stones and throw them in the water as well for extra aeration, as well as a thermometer to make sure the temps stay low enough. Now comes the actually hard part – the lid. I chose to make a 35-site cloner, so I traced out 35 holes in my lid. Since my neoprene sleeves are 2’’ in diameter I made the holes 1 ¾’’ so the seal is watertight. Initially I tried using a 1 ¾’’ drill bit to make the holes but that ended up butchering the entire lid (try it – you’ll see). After buying a new lid I decided that tin snips would do the job just fine, so I drilled some pilot holes within the 1 ¾’’ stencil so that I could start the cut with my snips. This worked beautifully, and after a bout an hour of meticulous cutting and forearm pain I had a functional, albeit ghetto looking lid. The holes were still quite jagged though, so I took a piece of jade I had lying around and smoothed them out (didn’t have sandpaper or anything else really). After I was confident the holes wouldn’t tear my neoprene sleeves to shreds, I popped the lid on the tote, strung my air lines and pump cord through one of the holes, and plugged it in. After making sure that it worked (which doesn’t take long) I filled it up with cuts and checked for leaks. Might need one piece of duct tape but besides that everything is running great, water temperature is staying around 68, and all of the cuts are getting misted constantly. All in all about 3 hours of work, and $65 bucks – now I just have to wait for roots! Hope this helps someone out there who is looking to build one of these for themselves. IMG_0095.jpgsuppliesIMG_0096.jpgclose up of PVC piecesIMG_0098.jpgassembly in processIMG_0099.jpgwith misters in placeIMG_0100.jpgoutlining sitesIMG_0101.jpgdrilling pilot holes for tin snipsIMG_0104.jpgsmoothing out holesIMG_0105.jpgup and running!IMG_0103.jpgadd a drop or two of clonex to the res and you're ready for cutsIMG_0145.jpg

After all was said and done I walked into my flower room to find that my portable A/C unit for some reason had leaked all over the floor in the tent to the point where there was about a half inch of standing water in most places. God damnit. Spent about two hours in there with fans/towels/shopvac to get it all dry. Readjusted the A/C and cleaned the air intake, hoping this fixes the problem.

IMG_0109.jpg

11/17 – Last night I switched the lights in the flower room to 12/12. Tired of waiting to see my phenos!!! Decided after a bunch of research that F1 cuttings of these seed ladies won’t be any less potent genetically, and since my cuts have mostly rooted I feel safe flipping the lights (could always take a cut into flower but don’t need the added stress). There are still a few waiting to show sex in the veg room (one Qush, one JTR), and once they do they will either get chopped or put into the flower tent. I came in to the flower tent this morning to check on the ladies and found that the floor was again flooded by the A/C! This better not continue otherwise I wasted upwards of $300 on this unit…I’m hoping that it has to do with the high humidity outside, because there are two hoses (one for intake, one exhaust) so if the machine is drawing in very humid air then it has to get rid of that moisture somehow. We will see if the condition improves. Also, the ENDALL I sprayed is definitely burning the leaves or doing something to them – they are turning weird mottled colors in certain places. Washed it off fully today with RO water, hoping it didn’t damage them too much. Shoulda stuck with neem…everything else I use always burns my ladies!!!!
Bought some more party cups and had a planting festival with all of my rooted F1 cuts as well as momma cuts. Sprinkled Oregonism on the roots, then potted straight into Roots 707 Soil and watered with RO water/super plant tonic. About 50 total if you include the males, which will soon be gone. Some of the females look much better than others, so in a few weeks the healthy ones will stay and the rest will become compost, as long as I have one of each pheno to become my new mom.

IMG_0110.jpgIMG_0072.jpgcrazy roots!IMG_0161.jpgIMG_0118.jpgIMG_0124.jpgIMG_0128.jpgcuts and A/C shot after lights went outIMG_0130.jpglooking into the flower roomIMG_0139.jpginto the smart pot you go!IMG_0136.jpgIMG_0143.jpgIMG_0146.jpg

11/19 – ENDALL leaves are looking a bit better, they are definitely not getting worse. Transplanted the 3 ladies that are in 5L air pots into their final 17.5L air pots. Don’t think I need to describe my transplanting method anymore J its always the same. Roots in air pots look so healthy and awesome! Watered them with RO water, and then gave the rest of the ladies in the tent their first bloom feeding – 3 tsp/gal Roots Buddha Grow, 1 1/3 TBSP/gal Roots Buddha Bloom, 3 tsp Roots elemental. About 5 gallons spread through 17 plants, so it wasn’t that heavy of a feeding. Gave them all a bit of RO water as well afterwards just to make sure they were satisfied. Plants in the air pots seem to be really thirsty. I swear to god some of these ladies have grown 2 inches in the last 2 days, especially the Jillybean! Definitely a C99 leaning pheno, I might have to top it or LST. What do y’all think? I like LST but she has 3 leaf sets that look like they would become 3 beautiful colas if I just topped her traditionally (even though I am a fan of FIM myself).

11/21 – Cuts in aero cloner starting to show roots :) Mixed up a compost tea of RO water, super plant tonic, roots Buddha grow, roots Elemental, and Molasses. Currently using a home depot bucket as the vessel, with a $10 air pump and air stone for aeration. Giving the tea a day or two to stabilize and for microorganisms to reach peak beneficial levels. Decided to try my hand at mainlining a few of the F1 cuts, so a Qush and a Plushberry were selected and chopped. One of them I chopped on the 2nd node, the other on the 3rd node. Not sure which one was correct (I think the one on the 3rd node which was the Plushberry) but we will see how they react. Trimmed up the bottoms of my mommas and the ladies in the flower room. Figured it'll improve air flow and reduce the chance of PM, etc.

IMG_0172.jpgso fast!IMG_0152.jpgIMG_0154.jpgIMG_0156.jpgIMG_0157.jpgIMG_0160.jpgIMG_0165.jpgflower roomIMG_0168.jpg

11/22 – Happy Thanksgiving!! Giving thanks to my ladies for everything they do. Glad I was sending them good vibes cause I walked into veg room today and it was 93 degrees! Upon further inspection the A/C appears to be dead. The exhaust fan isn’t spinning, although the compressor still kicks on for a second but then turns off. Luckily I have a spare sitting around, so I swapped the units out real fast and got the temps back down to 75 in about an hour. No idea how long it had been dead, hopefully no more than 5 hours. Thinking I may have killed it because the exhaust is connected to ducting that runs 10+ feet towards the roof, so the little exhaust fan inside the unit was facing a lot of resistance, and it was running like 22/7 for months. Because of this, I rearranged the setup so that there is a 6’’ 435 cfm inline fan in the ceiling pulling the exhaust out of the unit. I am hoping this will keep my other unit alive for a long time, because I don’t have the $$$ to buy more portable A/C’s. Tied down the Jillybean in the flower room, she is stretching like crazy so I need to do something to stop her.

11/23 – Black Friday deals at the hydro store today. Spent way too much money, but it will all be worth it in a few months J Came home with a carbon filter (Can-filter 75) two 8’’ 745cfm inline fans, 25’ of 8’’ ducting, C.A.P. AIR-4 Temperature, Humidity, and CO2 controller, 5 more 5L air pots, a pH meter as well as a TDS meter, two 16’’ oscillating fans, and a whole bunch of roots organic nutes. Just finished setting it all up, hence me posting this at 4 in the morning :bigjoint: Gotta do late night work when the lights are on at night. Jilly has responded very well to being tied down, need to do the same to a few other plants that are stretching. The one agent female I have is definitely extremely sativa dominant cause it is shooting up quicker than almost anyone else. Check the pictures from a few days ago and you will see that she was shorter than the A/C unit, and now she is towering above it. Saw a whitefly or two and a few thrips while I was setting stuff up, going to spray neem tomorrow. I’m trying to let the leaves rest after the ENDALL incident, the old leaves are still not looking too hot. What a pain in the ass. Waiting to use my other compost tea before I start another, but here are the nutes I am planning on using for the next few weeks:

Roots Trinity
Roots Ancient Amber
Roots Extreme Serene
Roots Elemental
Roots HPK
Roots HP2
Roots Buddha Bloom
Roots Buddha Grow
Roots Oregonism XL
Humboldts Own Bushmaster
Super Plant Tonic

Hoping to get good results :) Shouldn't be hard with these genetics!

Had to rip my tent to get my carbon filter through the door of the room (my tent is squeezed within a room), but it's a small price to pay for odorless exhaust. Hooked it up to an 8'' inline fan and vented it up into the attic. Hooked up my other 8'' inline fan to a set of 3 air cooled hoods. Now I have all 7 hoods hanging, 6 of which are connected to fans and one which is currently not connected to anything. Only 4 of the lights are running, with plants positioned accordingly. As they fill out and I bring more plants in I will turn on the rest of the lights. Will try to get pictures of the setup next time

k thats it for now - need to get to bed. let me know what y'all think. peace :joint:

Looking good so far! Gotta love those black friday deals, its like Christmas a month early. Crazy how fast those roots popped in the aerocloner. U just using RO water, or a tea?

11/24 - Foliar fed with 10ml/gal of extreme serene. 5 hours later everyone was loving it! leaves standing at full attention! y'all were not kidding when you said leaves straight like diving boards :hump: I'm just glad I can give the leaves something beneficial after that stupid ENDALL incident. I can say for sure now that i will be using extreme serene for the foreseeable future in veg and very early flower. Damn my ladies look happy

11/25 - saw a few whiteflies today (gah!!!!) so i released a horde of ladybugs (1500+) in the veg room, I am going to release another batch in the flower room soon, might spray them first though just to be thorough. cuts in aero cloner are rooting well, need to plant them soon. got some fresh cuts in the mail today from up north! they were hurtin after 2 or more days in the mail, but still wet in their paper towels, so I cut and dipped them and they are chillin in rockwool at the moment. they really don't look good at all but I'm hoping they'll pull through. Strains are permafrost (yes! cut from my old momma that died on the way down here), MILF (accidentally got included which is such a pain in the ass), and Chemdawg IBL which i have yet to flower but heard great things about from friend who gave me the cut. The cuts are under some CFLs in quarantine in my bathroom, they will remain there for a few weeks until I'm sure there is no PM, mites, root aphids, etc. don't want anything terrible to infest my garden.

11/26 - had a little photo shoot with the ladies in flower today. tried to get a pic of every pheno but i was high and spacing out so i think i missed a few. also i didn't have a good black background to shoot against, so I just used a black trash bag :bigjoint:

Disregard the shitty camera/exposure - sometimes they look too green, sometimes yellow - in reality they are a healthy green (with the exception of Ace Of Spades #3 which is yellowing quite a bit on the lower leaves)

11/27 - added a new intake because the nights are getting cold now. finally! got some more genetics from a friend today, all fresh cuts of the following strains: Sweet Tooth, Sour D, Woody Harrelson OG, Cindy 99, Fire OG, God's Gift, and Kush Wreck. These went into quarantine along with the cuts from up north. Hoping everything in quarantine will be safe, i kinda need a quarantine for my quarantine lol because I was having some PM issues in quarantine before (from infected cuts I got of craigslist - never again!!!!!:cuss:) and even though i sprayed the area down with hydrogen peroxide and culled the infected plants I am afraid it will transfer to my new cuts. Might get some PM wash from the hydro store and spray a light dillution on the cuts. anyone have experience with this? just trying to avoid losing these great genetics. Once they go into my real rooms there won't be any concern because the humidity is always below 40% (yay desert) but for now the humidity is kinda high in the bathroom even with fans exchanging air (which also ruins the quarantine cause it blows mildew spores everywhere). anyone with suggestions?

Also, my mothers have started to turn a little bit yellow, do you think this might be N def? I havent fed them very much at all, so they are probably running out of nutes in the soil.

I took a video of the flower room, but I have to post it online somewhere first to show y'all? any suggestions? i would rather not use youtube...

thats it for now - need to sleep, will post the rest of those pics as soon as i figure out how to format them properly.

For the photos -- if your method is to download from the camera to your computer as jpeg files and then upload directly to RIU and they go sideways, I have a work around for that. After you put them on your computer, open each photo, save it and close it again. This seems to "lock" it into position when you upload it. You might have to rotate it left or right once and then back again and save it. But it does work.

Theres gotta be a better way to transfer cuts throught the mail... Maybe fresh cut in a bottle of water, sent through ups or some next day expedited shit. Hate to see such sad looking, but amazing quality cuts. Plants are looking nice though, i love giving seaweed foliars. Seaweed is one of the most underrated additives, it adds micronutrients for days, as well as bunches of growth hormones and vitamins. Keep up the good work

Agreed, unfortunately the person who sent me the cuts is pretty damn cheap and refused to pay for overnight shipping...apparently the dankness of that permafrost wasn't worth $50 to them!!! I obviously failed to explain the gravity of the situation to them, and since they are a n00b they don't really understand the importance of genetics etc. I'm hoping some of the cuts pull through, may have to give a call back to have them send more... I was thinking about using a bottle of water for shipping, but the problem is that the box gets flipped and jostled so much in transit that I'm pretty sure any container would leak out, since there is no way keep the water from coming out of the top of the bottle(even if it is stuffed with cuts). The paper towel they were in was inside of a ziplock bag that was partially full of water, so the towel was 100% saturated, but still not as good a method as soaking in straight water.. I'll look into seaweed, any brands in particular? I think i remember using neptune's harvest a few years back, I believe that was a seaweed extract.

don't the leaves need co2 to survive the few days in the mail? I image they would turn to mush in a vacuum bag, maybe I am mistaken though. anyone try this?

Figured I'd upload this as a video instead of just a link so y'all can see it easier. Here you go. More pics/updates to come later tonight

Just finished up a bunch of work in both rooms. In the veg room I planted a bunch of rooted clones into party cups, and transplanted some well established clones from party cups into 1 gallon pots. . I now have a f1 cut of every female seed I popped, so my genetics will all live on! After I had a rooted f1 cut for each, I culled the rest of duplicate clones to keep my plant count within limits.

Mixed up some compost teas today, one bloom and one flower. Here are the ingredients per 5 gallon batch, all nutrients are Roots Organic unless noted otherwise:

Veg Tea (5 gal batch, diluted to 10 gal before use):

75ml Buddha Grow
25ml Extreme Serene
75ml Trinity
25ml Ancient Amber
1 TBS Super Plant Tonic by Blue Mountain Organics
2 TBS Organic Molasses

ends up around 500 ppm, 250 ppm once it's diluted and ready for use. The pH fluctuates - it usually starts out around 5, but after it bubbles for a few days will rise above 7. I have found that Roots nutrients take at least 24 hours of bubbling for the pH to stabilize, if not longer. Usually I bubble for 4 to 5 days before using the tea (this ensures proper microorganism levels), and then dilute it with RO water before adjusting the pH to around 6.8.

Early Bloom Tea (5 gal batch, diluted to 10-15 gal before use):

100ml Buddha Grow
150ml Buddha Bloom
50ml Extreme Serene
150ml Trinity
100ml HP2
1 TBS Super Plant Tonic by Blue Mountain Organics
4 TBS Molasses

ends up around 1300 ppm, 500 - 700ppm after its diluted (depending on how much food I think the ladies want). Just like the veg tea the pH starts out low (around 4.4), but the bloom tea never seems to rise above 6.0 no matter how long it bubbles. Again just like the veg tea I bubble for 4-5 days, dilute, and then adjust pH before feeding.

Thats about it for the veg room recently, but in the flower room things have been changing quick. The ladies are well within the stretch phase right now (currently day 14), and some of them are getting a bit too close to the lights. I have been bending tops over and I am hoping this will even out my canopy and keep the colas from getting scorched. Some of the ladies are much farther along in development than others, in particular Plushberry #1 is just jamming out, she has already begun to turn purple in her veins which is getting me really pumped up to see what color bud she will produce! Temps havent ever gotten below 58 either, so the purple so soon really caught me off guard. Gave all the ladies a good drink today with water that had a mosquito dunk soaking in it for 24hrs. This is in an attempt to introduce BTi bacterial cultures into my soil in order to kill fungus gnat larvae. We will see how it works. Saw one adult fungus gnat today, no whiteflies. I am getting some spinosad tomorrow, so I will definitely be spraying that as well. Can't be too careful about bugs at the beginning of flower - because there is only a short amount of time I have left to spray before I will be smoking pesticides. Removed a lot of lower growth from ladies who looked like they had more important branches to worry about. The plants are so close together that there isn't much light penetration at their base, so the leaves down there aren't doing much. Adjusted the height of a bunch of the lights to achieve proper distance from the canopy, also moved plants around in an order from shortest-tallest with lights accordingly. Tomorrow I am planning on bringing 15 more plants from veg into flower - the initiation of what will be a perpetual cycle. These ladies will be exactly 2 weeks behind the ones currently in flower. The strains are my mommas, so Vortex, Qleaner, Lavender, MILF, and GDP. Super pumped for the Lavender, MILF, and GDP as I havent flowered them yet. Most of these are under 8'' tall, so it is a nice change in pace compared to my massive ladies blasting into the lights. I will take some pics once everybody is settled into their new home.

Alright, that's about it for me. About to roast a 4:20 in the morning bowl :bigjoint: I've been doing that a bit too much lately. Damn night light cycle got me all nocturnal and shit :dunce:

Peace y'all
