Organic budworm defense

For outdoor growers... Ive read that spraying them with BT is a good preventative but can affect taste of final product if used to close to harvesting. I just wanted to hear the opinions of people with experience growing outdoors. Is it worth it for me to take this measure? Does location matter? I'm in the north east. Peace

If the buds are already formed you're kinda screwed. They need to ingest it and it's next to impossable to get the BT inside the bud and they don't come out to where the spray has hit.

I've eaten a metric shit ton over the years since I use it on my tom plants for hornworms and love to nosh on toms right off the vine. Never really tasted anything, but I've never really smoked it either.

What I do, is spray every 3 days while buds are forming, but still open. That's about the only chance to get the BT where the worms will actually eat some. Once they do and die, they spread even more BT as they decompose. It multiplys as it kills them.

If you see moths, it's time to start the BT for sure.
