Hey everyone I want to change my growing medium from promix to coco. I’ve seen people mixing there coco with worm castings feeding with synthetic nutrients still. There plants always look great and flowers are fire.

I will be continuing to use Athena blended for nutes. Im curious to see if anyone with experience here has to say about this combination.
Thanks in advance.

Why would you switch from ProMix to Coco? Not saying you're wrong in that decision I'm just curious. I am planning to switch back to promix from coco because in mid/late bloom I get pH crash between fertigations. Coco doesn't have dolomite lime to help maintain a non-acidic medium where ProMix, Sunshine Mix etc contain it for a reason.

To answer your question though, this is perfectly fine to do, having organic slow release fertilizers or no-burn organic stuff like worm-castings will help prevent any deficiencies while the chemical fertilizers will be the primary nutrients.

I’m switching from PromixHp because I’ve never been able to get runoff without getting overwatered results. I’ve done 4 runs in Promix HP and the last run I even added 25% more perlite with same results.

what are some no burn amendments other than worm castings you think would work well?

Lately I've added BioBizz Worm Castings and "Guanokalong complete organics" into my coco. But haven't really noticed any difference to the pure coco grows, they need just as much nutrients. IMO not worth it, but I'll use the rest of the organic stuff since I've already bought it.
