ordering a grow tent and 150w hps ballast

Hi, previously ive just been growing in a cabinet thats like 30" tall 22" wide and 11" deep for the past two grows using 226w((actual not equivalent) of cfl but i want to order a grow tent for the closet with a 150w hps. Im afraid to order it to my apartment since im living pretty much on campus. Would ordering something like this raise any red flags or am i just over thinking it? thanks to anyone with some inut

You're over thinking it. I ordered a tent and it came in a non descript, plain brown box. The light on the other hand was SUPPOSED to come in the same manner but was clear as day what it was/is. Take from this what you will...

"since im living pretty much on campus." I know you said you've done 2 grows already, but why risk your schooling. I wouldn't do it....if your not in like a dorm and are really set on it I would get at least a 400 so you can grow some decent bud.all my packages came in non description brown boxes, I ordered off amazon though. Make sure your aware of extra heat, fan noise and possible signal interference

Tent im on on but why a 150w when ur just gonna go up a grow later.... G ahead and get a 4-600w because they all it ff a decent amount of heat and require inline fans and/or cool tubes

Make sure the vendor you buy from explicitly states 'discrete shipping'. Although I do agree with the risk comment above, it isn't my place to say one way or the other, so I'm just giving my advice in regards to the question.

To further, yep, agreed again with above comments, 400 or 600. I'd recommend personally a 600w dimmable to 75% and 50%, so you can effectively run it down near 400w until you want to scale up later.

technically im off campus but im literally off camus by one street lol 400w is too much though im on a budget but i figured a 150w hps would be better than 226w of cfl. the bud i got off my last plant was really flufffy but i got 250g wet and after it all dried i had around 60g. maybe a 250w would be more better? i just cant go to a 400 to much in electricity and bulb/ballast cost. is that signal interference cause by the ballast?

I have a 600 cooltube off amazon it was 187 shipped comes with hangars timer everything you need and should cost around 20 bucks on your elec bill depending on your rates but trust me, us your gonna want more light.....and yes some ballasts put out more interference than others, I've never had issues but you should be aware

I have a 150 along with two 400's. The 150 in a small tent gets to be no hotter than 80 and sits at/around 76 (+-) with no extraction. When I run a 400 it gets astronomically high, so that part I agree with and I do extract that heat. But we've all failed to mention that no matter how big or small of a light he's gonna need a carbon filter to go along with it all.
