Optimum lighting (400W, 5 Gal)

Hello dear fellas,

What is the best/optimum number of plants in 5 gallon pots for a 400W MH/HPS with floodlight reflector in your experience? I'm used to super cropping/topping and I always rotate my plants on a regular basis to improve lighting. I was thinking 3 or maybe 4. Any idea?

I mean you can have 100 or 2 just depends how big they are you can start them small and add lights as they get bigger or you have more plants
