Hey folks.

Just after your opinions please on this premix I've bought from local garden supplier.

Its called their 5-way Mix:

-Cow manure
-Horse Manure
-Mushroom Compost
-Top Soil (Free draining sandy loam.)
-Mountain Soil (Heavier soil.)

The pile was still steaming when it got delivered. Very ripe!!
(PH was reading 6.8 before a drink.)

I've given it about a 15% perlite mix. I'll adjust NPK feedings as growth stages require.
Using 50gal Smart Pots.

What do ya reckon? Is it missing anything? or more importantly is it suitable?

Cheers all

seems like it might burn your plants. the miricle gro moisture control soil s what i use and it works geat. doesnt get hot because the wood chips and shit already decomposed. dont get the potting soil though cause that shit gets hot.

Sounds like it's really good stuff for established plants. Once your plants are mature you could transplant into that or use it as a mulch if your growing directly in the ground.

When do you want to plant? Just make sure its FULLY decomposed and you'll be fine...it should smell sweet vs like shit

Thanks for your replies.

I was planning on transplanting this weekend as I`ve just noticed roots coming out the bottom of the seedling pots. Plants are about 6 inches tall.

I'm in Australia and our season is just kicking off.

Would the initial heat i could sense when shovelling indicate its not fully decomposed? It didnt smell all that bad but def had heat to it...

I think you'll be fine...heat doesn't necessarily mean its not right....smell/texture is a better indicator...it should be crumbly
