I recently switched from soil to coco hempys and vertical..

now my questions are as follows.

- I currently have been using maxi bloom through the whole cycle but for the life of me I can't fucking get it to dissolve. 7 grams per gallon and adjusting ph. Any tips to get it to dissolve quicker?

- I'm thinking of switching because of the issue, but there's so many nute company's to choose.. I'm not sure which to get. I don't want a bunch of different additives I want as close to little cost as possible. A friend recommended jacks but I've never heard of them at all. Any info?

- watering every day or every other day is a pain in my ass when I'm busy. Any info to set a res up? My grow is on a second floor so lugging the water is a pain in the ass too. I use tap water in gallon jugs.. Any info or suggestions on easier watering is appreciated..

- I'm thinking of ordering seeds for the next grow. I've never grown any seed strain only bag seeds. My method of growing is vertical, wall of weed, and coco hempy I'm looking to spend 100 bucks max on seeds including shipping. No idea how much shipping would be but I'm in east coast. I'm thinking 3 g13 Pineapple Express and 3 dinafem blue cheese. Suggestions would be nice for that too.

I got the space for whatever needed. I'm in a spare bedroom and got lots of spare room. I got my 3x3 tent in there and use the corner for my hempy buckets got a desk etc in there. Eventually I'll organize it better but for now, I'm just trying to dial things in still.

Nutrients dissolve quicker. use some warm/hot water in a clean plastic bottle. You don't need much water, shake the shit out of it until it dissolves.

Good Luck on Your Grow

i do, I use hot water as hot as I can get and it still doesn't dissolve. I don't use plastic bottle I use glass mason jar and I stir.. Maybe that's not enough?

Thanks for the luck. I'm going to need it after switching and trying to get everything dialed in while being busy as hell.

Do you have those hard round balls forming in your nutrient bottle?
Might have to take them out and crush them up.
I just ignore the ones I have rolling around.

No it isn't balls it's powder when I quit stirring I can see it.. Is it so posted to be like that? If you look in my journal, I'm having discoloration at the bottom leafs. I'm trying to figure out what it is.. Has to be the nutes not dissolving I think

They needed water today and fed.. I tried the plastic bottle method with a empty small Gatorade bottle.. Same shit... I'm seriously ready to switch I don't want my plants to fuck up in flower if I let this go.... Should I put a little but of water in a pan... Boil it... Let it cool and see if it dissolves then?

also since my grow is on the second floor and lugging water jugs up is a pain in the ass.. I'm thinking of rigging a 10 gallon trash can for a res and just have a spout to water or even a regular normal hose.. Any advice about that?

Use a cake mixer and beat the shit out of it that way just another pain in the ass way to try. I have heard of jacks classic its actually quite common. I hear its good stuff never used personally but alot of older people use from what I have seen. How many plants are you running if you have more then a few you need more water imo. I woukd suggest 2o gal trash can get some air stones a bubbler and a water pump that way when you fill you res you bubble water to help remove chlorine etc. And use the pumo to pumo warer to a 5 gal bucket that you can water out of etc.

Im gonna keep trying the water bottle method and see if it works.. I'll also water more often and see if it takes care of leaf discoloration. I got 3 clones 3 mothers so 6 total plants around the vertical. I was also thinking about 20 gallon. What pump would I need to pump it to a spout so I can water that way.. Any suggestions?

Hi Dragon,
I used Maxi-bloom for a couple of years and liked it. I kept a res (doing E&F) and I just dumped it all in the res and didn't worry about the undissolved granules...figuring they'd dissolve in the res with air stone burbling. A non-issue for me.

Jack Peters in the guy who markets/owns Jack's. His Peter's line of nutes is comparable (though with a better rep) then MG. Jack's is their elite line. I've never used it but know people who have. Good stuff but I suspect dissolving it would be about the same as MB.

Far as pumps, I always had good luck with the EcoPlus line. Super cheap. Just get a small one (under $10)
Good luck,
JD

thanks for the reply. I'm going to get a 20 gallon trash can with a lid and use that for my res. all I need it a air pump for circulation, a pump to pump it out and that's it right? Does it need to stay a certain temp? Now how powerful of a pump would I need? To keep the res away from electrical outlet it will have to be in the corner of my room about 5 feet from plants. Electrical cord is nearby... I might just put something over the electrical connectors and put it there.... I'll post pics in a. Sec but I'm thinking of expanding the vert but I wanna get the res in place first... Don't mind the mess of the room

no clue why photos are all over the place... But ok... Anyways..

Photo 1- this is a close up shot of where I want to put it case I want to add another vertical corner, but he electrical and water I don't really like.

Photo 2- is the place I have plans on adding a wall of weed in the future... So I don't really want it there, but if I have to I can...

Photo 3- is the intake window, and the window I use the ac in the summer. That window splits the two parts

photo 5- is just a zoomed out shot of photo 1. It would be next to my tent...

My overall goal is to expand as much as I can.. I'm sure this is a little much to go for but I want 600watters for each vertical wall

I got the tent in the same room. But I'm either going to use it for clones and starters, or use it for a perpetual start. Take clones 2 weeks before I start flower then when I harvest them, Ill clone the clone again and keep going until I buy new seeds and new genetics every few months...

Any advice is appreciated. It's my first time having a room this big to use...

Dragon,
Looks like you have plenty of room, and I don't see an issue having it close to electrical outlet. Just don't splash all over! lol Far as temps...well as you know, roots prefer reasonably warm feedings. 65 or better should be fine. If it's super cold...get a submersible aquarium heater. They work good.

To feed multiple coco hempys (daily I assume) using an electric pump could be a problem with overflow or splashing as you go from one pot to the next. I'd suggest just using a water spout and hand water. But I have seen people equip a pump with a foot switch so you can shut the pump off as you go from pot to pot. Capishe? A 66gph pump (smallest Ecoplus) will pump roughly a gallon per minute. You don't want a fire hose!

Ok good deal.. I'll most likely put it next to the tent... There's a plug in right there for me so no problems.. Ill water by hand it's just bringing all the jugs up the second floor and mixing each individual one is a pain in the ass. So the pump goes in the bottom of the trash can, with a hose attached and when I turn it on water will come out the house correct? Any possible way to rig it to a PVC valve? If not that's fine but I'm just trying to make it easy lmao. I need a air stone. How big of a air stone should I get? 20 gallon trash cah

Dragon,
One the airstone...just go to the Kmart pet department or someplace like that. Buy the smallest air pump and a stone...oh maybe 6" or thereabouts. That will run continuously.

Yes, the submersibles are an always-on sort of thing. Plug them in and water comes out. You can't put a shutoff valve in the hose...they have to pump freely or they will overheat and get damaged. You could plumb in a selector Y valve and run water back to Res. Something like that. Or like I suggested earlier...an electric foot switch. Here's one for not too much...that's what I'd do.
