Perfect growers trim. That extra sugar leaf acts like bumpers for your buds during storage. If you don't like to smoke the sugar leaves, just trim them up right before smoking and save that trim for edibles, bho, water hash, ect.
On the other hand, if you're selling it, trim it tight and smoke the trimmings and scissor hash. :D

As other’s have said , depends where those buds will end up - in someone else’s pipe or stay home with you.
I trim only for pics not for giving them to some back alley sale.

Shit , why would I trim purty ass buds for some cousin or wifey sister ( bitch btw ) ?

I just trim according to what I like , nothing else.
I leave a lot of sugar leaf on some strains. Most get ground the fuck up for the volcano vape , so no point other than my iPhone pics.
I save pics for all strains I run …. Memories :bigjoint:

and a bunch more. Do yourself a favor and save your work - sort of speak , by keeping those buds you grew forever captured.

I spent way too much time trying to trim buds perfectly once, and ended up smoking everything I trimmed off at a later date anyway. These days, I just trim the big leaves off the bottom and call it good. Trimming >1lb of bud is a full time job, lol.

Also, I've found a dry trim yields the best results anyway, and it's never going to be as close as a wet trim... and you lose some quality doing a wet trim.

Following your lead on “ dry trim “ - I tend to do a regular wet trim ( fans / rough trim ) then leave plants in pot to dry on their own in a dark tent . Not for any broscience reason but for keeping them safe until i choose to cut them down at any time like after work or over a weekend while im gone. By being in pot , i dont have to worry about overdrying if i take a few days or weekend in vegas.

Pretty easy way to keep things controlled. Dark tent has extraction fan going and passive inlet for air. Toss in a hygrometer and instant harvest chamber.

Sometimes i hang plants or mesh rack buds ( trimmed ) - rolling them around so no flat spots happen - in that same dark tent setup.

Again - No benefits of dark tent other than keeping them from active grow lights.

But soil containers - i sort of let them dry on the vine by being in their pots for however long it takes - slow drying.

Then i cut them at a time of my own choosing.

Once dry , i use a cannabrush to “ clean “ them up - and end up using scissors much less.

Looks perfect to me OP. I personally hate over trimmed buds and like to leave a bit of leaf like that, gives the bud more character and just looks better to me. I judge cannabis on how it smells, if it looks like it was grown well, few leaves is purely cosmetic.
