Decent size for mid-July. You must've started those back in March or early April? What part of OK you in? Seems like a great climate, curious about the native soil.
All my outdoor plants are suffering from something else. Haven't seen rain in monhs but it's 100 degrees plus evey day. I water twice daily but some of the plants still aren't happy. I'd gladly trade some of this sun for cooler temps and some rain.

Are you in pots, and if so, how big? My in the ground plants deal well with 100 plus heat, I also like 6 inches deep of hay mulch around each plant.

Four are in tractor tires and the rest are in 100 gallon gallon fabric pots. I never thought about mulching them. I have a old hay bale, I may try that. Weather forecast calls for 100+ degree days for as far as the eye can see.

Keeping the root zone cool and the moisture even, really helps plants deal with high temps, vegetables as well as cannabis. Been gardening in the south for decades, I don't do much in containers anymore. They are harder to manage in high heat environments.

The four tractor tires allows roots in the ground but can't do anything about the containers. Never had this many consecutive days of heat to deal with before.

Agree that a thick mulch layer should help. They get a deep water early in the a.m.? I would soak them good before the sun rises then if necessary a late afternoon/early evening refresh. Consider adding a little potassium silicate to their water too, supposedly helps with drought/heat stress.

I water them as the sun rises at 6am. Re water at 2pm. I didn't know about the potassium silicate. I just ordered some. Thanks for the tip.

Maybe delay that afternoon watering a few hours so you're not hitting them with a bunch of cold water in the heat of the day? Plus a bunch probably just evaporates in those conditions. A healthy plant should be able to get through a hot day with a good dawn soaking.

Just an idea if you're trying to pinpoint the issue.

I'll delay the afternoon soak. Good suggestion.

Back to the rain, drizzle, fog, and now stifling humidity. Supposed to get a short break this coming week then right back into the wash cycle. Very weird summer so far. Good thing this isn't flower season, everything would be pretty much toast.

Got the Pine Tar and Northern Lights under cover now, trying to nurse them back from the overwatering they got being outside on the wet ground, things look a little better but I don't thing I'm out of the woods yet. One of the Northern Lights looked really bad the other day with the wilting, but that was before I put it on the porch out of direct light. Hoping in time those pots will fully dry out and I can get them back on track.

Got a bunch of Cherry Wine hemp in the ground this year and it's doing fine even with all the moisture...growth rate is a bit down with the lack of son the but the plants seem to be thriving. Interesting that all the wet root issues are in the containers.

Pine tar on left, Northern Lights in back and right, @thumper60 special in the foreground. Fair bit of leaf yellowing and even decay on that North Lights.

Stuff in the ground is doing great, these are Cherry Wine hemp plants:

Just got some trellises up today, hasn't been much wind yet this summer but best be ready because it'll come eventually. Toby stood guard.

These ladies are just about ready for their final pots and to go in the earth. I think I can get away with using 20 gal containers. I hope haha. I’ll till the earth that they’ll be resting on as a precaution.. If the weather keeps on how it’s been it’s gonna be one hell of a season. I’m here for it.6DEF6B69-CAFA-43FB-87B0-DC1FF3C8DECD.jpeg64E144D9-255D-4804-8369-D5A4CBF3AA5F.jpeg

In the final stages Down Under. This is my first grow and it’s been very successful, surpassing my expectations. Although they look different both are GG#4. I’m hoping I can harvest in a few weeks.

Oh man…if this wet weather doesn’t turn around by fall, things won’t go well.

Here’s a pic from last week…couple of the ladies and my lady playing Where’s Waldo. Time for a trim and add some supports.
