One week into grow – concerned and looking for advice

[FONT=&quot]Just started my grow and am concerned with progress; request any ideas/comments on what am I doing wrong or suggestions for improvement. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] My setup:[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot] “Rubbermaid” style grow box[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]6 - 100w equivalent CFLs[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]50 CFM fan [/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]3 Nirvana feminized Northern Lights planted in 16oz plastic drink cups[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]Grow medium is Pro mix BX with handful of pea gravel in bottom of each cup[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]Watering with distilled water adjusted to ph ~6.5[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]Plants within 1 – 2 inches of lights[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Growing conditions:[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]Temps 75-83 degrees F
    [/FONT]
  • · [FONT=&quot]RH 30%[/FONT]
  • · [FONT=&quot]24/0 light cycle[/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]
  • [FONT=&quot]I currently have lost 2 of 3 plants; remaining plant is definitely growing[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]My concerns:[/FONT]

  • · [FONT=&quot]Plants require watering every other day; I’m checking soil dampness one inch up from container bottom through hole in side of container[/FONT]
  • · [FONT=&quot]Could the loss of the 2 plants be due to random infant mortality?[/FONT]
  • · [FONT=&quot]Could I have too much ventilation (currently set up exchanges air in grow box 6 – 8 time per minute)?[/FONT]
  • · [FONT=&quot]Lastly, on the surviving plant the initial round leaves on yellowing; I understand this to be a signal to add nutes, but could this be true only 1 week into grow?[/FONT]

Good post well detailed and easy to read(no pic though),wish more people would do this instead of writting essays.
I think you overwatered them, dont go by top inch ,go by the pot being very light to lift,raise the light to 6" as it is young and unhealthy and change light to 20/4 to give it a rest. Need a pic though to confirm this.

Many thanx mate - any thoughts on nutes at this early stage due to yellowing of initial round leaves?

too young to be feeding it nutes. and like buds said, switch it to either 20/4 or 18/6 so it will have some night time. people argue alot that 24/0 light is good for veg but i say that the plants need at least a little bit of night time. and dont check the soil moisture by actually feeling the soil, go by weight. if you have a hole an inch from the bottom, water is evaporating in that area from that hole so it will prolly feel dry right there and not need to be watered. best of luck bro and as always, stay smokey. :leaf:

Grow is on 18/6 as of today and I'm moving to water by weight at next watering
