One more week enough?

Still some white hairs, sativa dominant haze strains. I havent been keeping track of actual weeks since the flip, just going by trichs and pistils. Some white hairs left, but they are reducing day by day.

I'm thinking 7 more days max?

Khyber,
Looks good man. A rule of thinb is to chop 2 weeks after you see most (like 90%) pistils turning color. But damn...she looks ready. I wouldn't go more then another week.

Thanks! I think I'm going to chop this Friday or Saturday then. Gives me the weekend to trim and hang everything up to dry.

Harvested and disaster struck, like a punch to the gut: mold. I had to toss 40% of the harvest and those were the biggest and densest colas, another 10% goes into quarantine for closer inspection, for example colas I was able to cut in half since the rot seemed to have been confined to the top halves of the biggest buds. The other half of the crop was okay, I was worried about this as my humidity was hovering around 59% lights off. I will have to get this under control next run, time to invest in a dehumidifier. On the Brightside whatever this bag seed haze strain was it was pretty killer, huge dense colas, nice fragrance and color. I may try re-veg the plant if I can.

Mold:

On the Brightside I did get about 10 colas about this size plus all the smaller stuff that wasn't impacted. A sad day, but another lesson learned.

Hey Khyber...
Sorry man. I live in humid area and worry about that. I have two huge fans blowing pretty good on them. OK so far.

Live and learn...may your next grow end better.

What do you run for fans and how do you position them? I'm thinking my fan setup is part of the issue.

My room is 7'x8' but I only have plants in a 3 1/2' swath along one 8' wall. On the opposite wall I have a high speed 20" fan attached fairly high on opposite wall. It's not oscillating so it really only covers half the garden. I have it on a dimmer and keep at just below half full on.

At the other end...also high on the wall...is a 16" 3 speed oscillating fan that I keep on the middle speed.

Sometimes, like after watering or a spill or something...I'll crank them up to dry things out. My plants are constantly in motion. Not like a hurricane...more like a medium windy summer day. plants have never shown windburn...fans run 24 hours.

Nice, next round I'm going to increase fan size and get a 30 pint dehumidifier. No more messing around!

I'm in a very humid cool coastal environment. Perfect for mold. I managed to get 2 runs here and am at midpoint of my third grow...using the fans only. I have a dehumidifier that I need for drying/curing...but so far haven't needed it in flowering yet. I'm not saying you won't need it. It would be an excellent idea to buy one. But don't let it get too dry...not good either.

The attached VPD chart gives you a rough idea of the desired humidity for a given temp. The orange area is the sweet spot.

I'm in Vancouver, basement grow. I was actually going by VPD and thought I was OK, lights off about 20C and 60% RH lights on about 40-45% and 24-25C. According to VPD my lights on is out of bounds, and my lights off was okay. But I feel that it was my lights off humidity that allowed mold to flourish. I'm confused, wouldn't it be better to maintain 45% RH through mid and late flower? Doesnt a high RH translate to more available moisture for mold growth?
