One more time: Is it ready yet?

This is my first grow and I will do a lot of things differently next time. Pictures are below. This was planted outside in Florida in May. It has been flowering for at least 9 weeks, maybe ten. Not all of the buds look as ripe as the one pictured below. There aren't a lot of trichs on this plant (its not covered in snow like some of the plant pics I've seen) but there are trichs all around the stigmas and calyxes and they look amber to me (looked with a 30x microscope) but its hard to tell. It rained really hard the day before yesterday so I am wondering, 1) does it look ready, and 2)because of the heavy rain (plant is dry now), should I wait and see if more trichs form, like maybe some were washed away and will come back in a few days? Sorry for the same annoying question but I could use some help!

I'm in Florida and the temperature is like 70F right now. It doesn't really look ready to the naked eye but I swear the trichs look amber so I am wondering if it just looks sparse because it is bagseed and because I made a thousand mistakes while growing it. It has been flowering for at least 9 weeks, probably more.

Thanks for the compliment. I am kinda dissappointed but it was a learning experience. I made a lot of mistakes before I found my way to this forum! The posts here have been insanely helpful.

As for my harvest, I am going to be going out of town Dec. 23 for a week so I am trying to figure out my window. I don't want the plants to be curing while I am gone because I won't have a way to open the jars.

So I either have to harvest by Dec. 8 so that the plants will have time to dry for 5-10 days and and be done curing (at least to the point where the jars no longer need to be opened) before Dec.23. Or wait 'til after Dec. 30 when I get back to start the drying and curing process. I guess another possibility would be hang them to dry on Dec. 23, and leave them completely alone for a week; then start them in cure jars on Dec. 30 when I get back.

Dilemma.

They must not have gotten good light as they do look real spaced and immature. At 9 weeks they should be almost done but Im with fdd but Id give 3-4 weeks still on those things

Yeah, like I said, I made a lot of mistakes with this first grow. It was a good learning experience and in retrospect, maybe it turned out to be a good thing that I used bagseed to learn on rather than wasting good breeder seeds. I think I'll heed the advice and wait another 3 weeks. That is about as long as I can wait due to external circumstances.

Even for a first grow though it looks pretty good. As you said you made some mistakes, but alot of first tiem growers dont even make it this far = )

I would deffently wait another couple weeks. Also what if you harvest on December 29th, hang them up to dry, go out of town for a week, when you get back they should be done with the hang dry process, then you can put into jars and start curing?

Just an idea. I think December 30th might be to late, but December 8th is deffently to early. Just a suggestion.

Goodluck to ya mate <3

Thanks for the positive feedback. I think that is the best way to do it - that way I'll have something nice to come home to :)

I think I finally figured out the whole trichomes thing. It didn't help at first that there really aren't a lot of them (= lower potency? Dang bagseed!). Anyway, I can see that on about half the buds, the trichs are all cloudy with a couple amber. On the other half, the trichs are mostly cloudy with a few clear. So I am thinking very soon it will be time...
