this is why I have not posted here in a few day, cant work on my box or light , the truck is taking my time, needed new u joints and a new drive shaft center carrier bearing,, ugh, tough work, check out the press i rigged up on the saw horses to handle the long rear drive shaft bearing pressing

Got the truck fixed alright, now I cant work on the light / wardrobe due to all the people over here for spring break this week, at least I can sneak out to the shop for my own fun,, bewhahahhaaa,

Last day of spring break here, I can finally get back to cob building Monday morning, the time off has given me some good idea looking at other grower light set up, so I can post some build pics tomorrow

Construction on the Cob light hanger bracket started today, I drilled 2 holes all the way thru the heat sinks so I can slide small bolts thru and sandwhich the aluminum brackets to the cobs, View attachment 3384424 View attachment 3384424 View attachment 3384424

another angle, the holes drilled easily plus I dont have to tap them nor do I have to hang the cobs by a chain, you will see in the next photo whats up

here you can see I am fabricating the cob bracket to rest on top of the mars housing and gravity just keeps it there, also I can slide the cobs and bracket out and off if I need to this gives flexablity with the light set up by not physically bolting it to the mars light housing, also i had to extend down the cobs so the bottom is more flush with the bottom of the mars housing, it would have been so simple to just run the cob bracket across the top and mount the cobs out over the ends, but the mars housing would have blocked so much of the light from the cxa3070 cree's that I had to extend them down , plus the down extenders are longer than the heat sinks providing a "stand" for the light bracket when sitting on the table the cxa3070 's dont physically touch the surface , makes it easier to work on later if needed, had to stop fabrication for the day, gotta work tonight, ill tinker with it some more tuesday

Wife is still sick, they are treating her for Lyme disease, when she recovers I can fire it up, watching others growing under the Cree cobs has me excited,, thanks for asking

So here we go, I have met some wonderful people here on Roll it up, and two of them who live locally to me have been really bid helps and have inspired me to keep going on this build, and my hats off to the guy who is making it possible for me to get some clones, amazing, big thank you !!,, so I am going to whip this box into shape and get this show on the road hopefully have plants in by the end of may.

here we go, finishing the light build, the cxa3070 cree cobs and the mars hydro light together to form some type of frankinstien led light, my best guess is total lumens will be somewhere around 24,000, I decided to go the easy route on the cob frame build, and I am happy that i did, ,here are the picturesView attachment 3414057

looks kinda good i guess, I think i am going to mount the drivers and fan power supply to the frame rails around the outside of the mars fan intakes

next up , I bolted some legs onto the frame, so the whole unit can stand seperatly on the table and not have the cxa3070 cobs touching the surface, hopefully this spares them any damage if the unit needs to be worked on , or a component changed out down the road,,

OK BACK TO WORK, I hope to be test lighting these tonight, I really want to see how bright the cobs are, especially next to the marshydro 300

i followed the advice of someone on here, and I put the cobs in the holders, and then smeared the thermal paste onto the back of the cob, and used a razor blade to spread it thin, the just flipped the cob over and screwed it down to the artic 11 heat sinks, I followed advice and made sure I had all 4 mounting points touching the aluminum
