One 1200 dollar light or 3 400 dollar lights?

I would also add if you lose your $1200 light in the middle of your grow what will you do to fix it as your plants won't want to wait for their next light cycle? At least with multiple lights you can move them around a bit until you get a replacement. It also gives you the ability to move individual lights closer or further away depending on the plants needs. Just something I would think about. I always worry about having just one of a major component in case of failure.
 
I really like the versatility of having 3 different lights that are like 40"x 6" which makes me leans toward the Mars SPs. But I just have the feeling Mars is a lower quality deal than a brand name like Gavita. I don't have any rational reason for this feeling though (other than being a Chinese reseller like you said.) But like you've said, the important thing is to have those Japanese diodes with the USA drivers.

It is huge for disaster recovery too because keeping one light on with a battery backup to keep your cycle is easier, parts are swappable, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, the Mars grows good weed. Just at a premium price for non-premium components.

The Mars I'm looking at uses Samsung top bins (a few osram reds) and a 300w meanwell driver.

I have one of them. It’s okay. The lights from Meijiu are a better value. Mars has a potentially better warranty.

I’ve never had to deal with either on warranty. I would probably buy another light instead.

Based on what actual information? All "bar" fixtures look similar ... no secret there ... but the frames, bar mounting, and power supplies are all quite different. And what is the source for your "failure rate" claim? Not saying you're wrong, just asking you to substantiate your claim.
Too many people on this forum like to have opinions based on nothing more than a hunch and it would be a pity to slam a good LED option with false claims

Hi. I don't mean to be rude or unkind, but this does not look like a very successful setup for the size and (I'm guessing the expense). I think I am on track to get more buds from my 3'x3' one Bubblegum plant under a single 600w MH. I suggest you train the plants to have a level canopy. Also, these plants need more leaves to take advantage of that beautiful diffuse light you have got going. They are the food factory of the plants. I generally just take yellowed/ing leaves out to keep the microclimate in the heart of the plant from becoming humid and pest/disease prone. Best of luck with it all, Jack.

Post up your 2 pound 3x3 noob I’d love to see it. This room was just built and I tossed what I had in my old flower room in here for itmaiden voyage. This isn’t my first rodeo and I know all about training and even canopy’s.
