Thanx d will def try it next time, saw that pic of your tea. shit def looked alive and bubbly... considered the mycos but did bot have enough to do it right and did not think it warranted a trip to the hydro shop. as for the molasses, i know sugars help the beneficials colonize but was weary since it was my first time using xtreme tea. oh forgot to mention my mykos price its 55$ for a 12 oz. bag where i live... have some pics of the gals tomorrow, both swiss cheeses showed up to the party and are ready to rock, now if i cab just get those clones to look healthy, not really sweating those yet tho. keep it green riu
edit: forgot to mention the tea came with an "activator" pack that looked suspiciously like molasses... this was the other reason i was hesitant to add more

Alright so I am done with my regular job for the week, woo hoo:wall:. Now it is time to take care of my ladies. I supercropped some of the leading branches on the space bomb, idk if it was the way they were tied down but some were standing taller than others, all about the same length though. I will be lollipopping em up next week before I put the CO2 tank in there and will be about the same time period for the final transplant on the cheese, don't think I mentioned it but am trying a 12/12 from seed in super soil (2 gal. containers) so we will see how that goes.... In the mean time lets look at these bitches.

And the lil Swiss Cheese's making their first appearance, not banking on this strain being the actual skunk bred cheese strain but a friend asked me to start em, told him this is what I can do till they prove they deserve to be a rotating crop in my garden

And so there is what I have going on right now, clones still rooting and looking pretty haggard atm so will prob be another week or two before you see which made the cut. Gonna feed them for the first time sometime this weekend, if the soil ever dries out... keeping it pretty humid in my closet with my humidifier right now.
Question for all of you master cloners out there, how long do you baby them with humidity, if I recall clones gather water through their leaves till they get enough roots so they need the humidity, but for how long? How many roots are enough, not gonna pull a bmeat and rip my clone out to see if it rooted but just looking for a general idea, cloning is still relatively new ground for me so any help is appreciated. Hope ya like what you see, and as always keep it green!

Ya, gonna try great white for a minute, was my first bag of myco and lasted me bout 6 months, dont have nearly the plant count you do. Live in a non med state so amazon sketches me a lil bit. that cloner soundz legit you can post it here or pm me. much appreciated. You must spread some reputation before giving it to dlopez1420 again

You can purchase over sized 5 gallon buckets someplace that will take up the same floor area as the 5 gallon buckets but hold 7..dont ask me where to get them though but i know pool companys chlorine frequently comes in 7 gallon buckets..same as the five..just taller and should be cheap if you find them.Did you add dolomite/garden lime to the soil?It must be done..always..another item you can add to your soil..and should add to your soil is azomite. With azomite in your soil you will never have a deff of any kind due to micros and minerals..NEVER.With the garden lime in the soil you will never have to worry about a PH problem that is causing lock out of any of your other nutes.Yea it can happen fast too..With the garden lime you will NEVER have to worry about a PH problem. When something has a deff then you will KNOW that is not caused by lack of micro nutes or PH..then it makes the list of things that could be going on much shorter..fast and easy to find and correct. When i grew i dirt i would veg to large bush's with a 5 gallon of reinforced soil then transfer them to 10 gallon pots in super soil..On casters so they could be wheeled around easy.
Cloning..Its more important to know what makes a clone throw roots more so than the method used..No one seems to ever explain how a clone throws roots..they tell you how to do it,but never say why it throws root.
The first thing it needs a stable temp at around 75 F.,The second thing it needs is a soft light on them..SOFT light to harsh and they will burn up dry out and die.The third thing they need to stay alive while they throw roots is a high humidity level around the cutting in order to keep it alive until it throws roots.Humidity dome.If you are using a bubble or aero cloner what makes the plants throw roots is the air in the water..So plenty of air stones..Ph water to around 6.No matter how you clone PH 6.
If you are cloning in rock wool cubes or root riot cubes it is important to Not let them sit in direct water there are several propagation tray inserts that will hold your cloning media out of the direct water.
When using cloning media(root riots rock wool ect. Think moist not wet.You put your clones in media into the propagation tray on their stand holding them out of the water, some water in the propagation tray a heat mat under the propagation tray .I use a heat control for the heat mat with a temp probe run under the dome and stuck into the water set at 75 F..this temp is important. It keeps the humidity up in the dome this way..That is all its for the heat mat..it keeps humidity in the dome and the temp correct..If it gets to cold they will not root.if its too hot they wont root.
NOW the cloning media like the root riots or rock wool MUST be allowed to dry some..this gets rid of the old water and makes the roots jump from the stem in search of water..If too wet..they will not jump from the stem.if too dry they will die..WATCH FOR THE TOP OF THE MEDIA If you are using root riots they will turn a lighter brown AT that point spray them with a LITTLE bit of water..Same with the rock wool cubes..they will turn whitish on top ONLY then spray them with a little PHed balanced water.
AS SOON as the roots show outside the media..OR if you are using a bubble cloner about a inch long roots, time to get them into some light dirt. They while cloning only have the energy that is in the cutting to keep it alive. So it is important to take healthy cuttings. They will be a little weak even though they have roots and need a light dose of nutes and soft light to get them going again.Dont take them straight away to a low humidity area or a area with higher heat...it can and will kill them. At least till they have some legs under them and some health back.
This stage is often called PRE vegging. Before they go under the HID for veg.
Remember even if you clone in a aero cloner or bubble cloner it needs a high humidity level on the upper of the plant.
So this is what we need
Aero or bubble:We need AIR PUMP AND STONES CONTAINER ,HUMIDITY,SOFT LIGHT,75 F TEMP(CONTROLLED)ph6,spray bottle
media cloning:we need MEDIA,HEAT MAT,TEMP CONTROLLER,PROP TRAY STAND AND DOME,75F,ph6 water ,spray bottle soft light ,(15 watt CFL works well suspended about a ft and half over cloner).
It took me forever to learn to clone well..It would be best if you have a separate cloning and pre veg area.I like a cloning box that is used for a tray in small pots also for pre veg.2.5 Wide 4 ft long and 3 ft high. One 4ft 55 watt T 5 suspended over 4 trays 1.5 ft off of domes,4 station heat mat controlled by one temp probe..Most of the area is used for pre veg though.I just use trays and domes over the little ones that are rooted put them in some light food and let em sit under the soft light developing legs..sometimes i start taking the domes off of them to let them get used to a little less humidity and get some fresh air.Keep everything clean and STERILE.especially when first starting a batch of clones.HOT water and H2O2.
Good luck..hopes this helps answer some questions.

WOW lot of info to take in lol. Appreciate it though, have a heat mat and used it at the beginning. I have a probe too but the rooters I use are a lil small to take the probe in (if i read the directions right it reads media temp not enviro temp?) so did not use it this time, thinking rock wool next time too so will have some room to try it. 75-78 is about where I keep them at right now with 75% humidity. Gonna give them and the seedlings a dose of Fox Farm Big bloom (not sure if you are familiar with it but my fav FF product), it is organic and has really low NPK so not a high risk for burn. Did not know a strict 6 PH is wat you want although my water is only usually a point or two off that.
As for the soil concerns, my super soil I am incorporating now has a good amount of granular azomite in it as well as lime (subcool's recipe), surprised you did not drop epsom salts while on that roll lol. I do not mix stuff in with the Ocean forest or Light warrior except for some myco, sure it could not hurt I just never have done it.
The CO2 boost bucket I bought a month ago will be going in the clone closet til it is dead, not sure exact exp I just get rid of them after 3 months and the plants do not seem to mind.
Thanks again max, your post def has me thinking of my future cloning environment....

Max is on to it.... :)

Few photos of my cloning station (i clone every 2 weeks) No light leaks, taped up with reflective tape. Foam inserts. Been using this for about 6-7 months. Just recently changed out the foam inserts for new ones as they were a bit tacky.....small price.

Cuttings dipped in clonex (not organic i know but it wont hurt the soil) Water in the tote.

These have been in for 8 days. The middle row is 'Purple Haze'...they are always fast to root. The others will show in a couple of days. (got a few bumps on now) Just started taking bigger clones. At end of 14 days....take clones out, flush tote and foam inserts, clean (scrub sides for any mould) rinse, repeat.

Transplanted into mix of Chroni-kool-dirt © + diluted with Coco to buffer. (1st run with new soil mix) (this is 8 days) 2 weeks in veg then flip to flower.

Oh about the water i use....i dont PH my water....i just bubble it for at least 24 hours (in a separate bucket) The PH must be in the ball park for 6-7 i guess for it to work so well. New PH meter on the way....

No matter how good a soil you use always garden lime it well.Allot of times the water you use will fluctuate PH depending on your water quality The garden lime will put a stop to that.
Subcools super soil is great . you will get great results out of it and grow pretty, healthy plants with his formula.
Ive seen good results of people using fox farm soils and their nute line up..ive use some of their products before with decent effect.
It seem everyone has their own nute line up they like and thats cool if it works good for them.
All nute companys offer a basic line of nutes..ALL of them are BASIC..they will grow any plant OK. The problem comes when you try to gain the most production out of a plant.
There are three stages of plant development. In a two month strain The first two weeks are the transition phase of the plant. This is where the plant transitions from a vegetative state to the bloom phase. The plant will be setting and crowing bud sites during this state. The second phase is the development stage of the plant this is where the plant fills in bud and develop size to the bud.The final stage is the finishing stage where the bud ripens and hardens.
If you can ajust the intensity of your feeding schedule at the right time you can increase your quality and production.
If we were to look at it as requirements as NPK it would go like this.Veg N..transition phase NP...development state PK and finish stage K.
I grow in hydro so i use chemical nutes. Some of these products work better than others and to find out what worked for me took years actually.
Fox farms makes a line up of these boosters for different stages of the plant development If i were growing fox farms i for sure would try them out. They do work..some of them just work allot better than others.
If there is one single game changing product i can recommend to someone it would be ANs Bud Blood( i get allot of hate for this one)but the product really is that good.It is only used the first week at 2 grams a gallon then drop it out and go to boosters used in the development stage high in PK at the end bomb them with kelp sea weed or something VERY high in K.(organic growers use teas made with high PK bat guanos that work well)Some growers ADD a little extra nitrogen at the start of the transition phase when it is using up allot of N and P.Ive seen plants at the transition phase use up allot of their N trying to keep up with the plants use of the P..In other words the plant was wanting to set more bigger better bud sites but didnt have enough N to keep up
You still need your humidity higher than 75% IMO. around 90% would be good.

Well you get to see the clones for the first time today, they are doing much better now that I put in a CO2 boost bucket and upped the humidity (prob gonna start lowering it slowly). Could even see lil fuzzy white roots coming out the bottom of one of the 8x8s, took a pic cus I was so elated lol. Untied the big girls today when I watered, the string was not doing anything anymore so made sense to take it off. First true leaves are showing on the Cheese and if I can make an early prediction this is gonna be some hard indica. They got the fattest lil first leaves..... Im excited. Anywhoo onto the shots, the bigguns are starting to take off in flower now, lil claw downwards but pretty sure its cus I just watered em but I will keep an eye on it, they seem to be digging the diet I got them on so far. Oh oh oh and I lollipopped the SB pretty hard this week and she seems to have really loved it, got pics of right after the trim and shots from this morning, included one of the pile of trimmings (ignore my pale ass foot).

Thanks Lopez, just trying to do what I can with the small amount of room I have atm. Would have been wicked cramped in there if I would have vegged another week and gone for 16 colas lol. Think most of the return on this crop will be going to a mini split and a new tent, maybe another light if I have the money and need depending on tent size that I grab. But I have quite a few panels to use up, I want some of this new tech I keep seeing but I can not just throw out the ones I got and do not feel like going through the hassle of craigslisting them.
Im just gonna wait till a few kick out, already have one with a bad power supply so 3 rows do not work (been meaning to fix it but I rarely use the panel and idk exactly what it would entail other than a new part) and another that sounds like a bearing is going in the fan (wd-40d that bitch and all seems well, for now...)

Side Note: Might be getting some Enhanced Substrate Conditioner from Inda-gro to test on the clones, gotta hit them up tomorrow about it but after looking at the MSDS sheets and reading the other literature they got on the stuff that it seems like a pretty legit product if it does what its supposed too. Not a botanist (yet, getting my ass in gear to go back to school) but the big words and fancy numbers and diagrams got me sort of convinced lol. Although it would not be the first time I tried a product that was the latest and greatest only to turn up a goose egg. We shall see what the future holds for my babies....

How's everybody doing on this fine day? Just thought I would update ya on what's happening in my room.
The clones got topped for their first time since they got roots so 4 now, gonna bend em up this week. They will be getting the ESC (enhanced substrate conditioner) but only the ones on synthetics, gonna kinda do a mini experiment with this stuff. My thoughts are that one of the features of this stuff is it prevents salt build up while reducing nutrient usage/leeching(reduces use of nutrients by keeping it in the soil instead of letting it leech out) so I will treat 2/4 clones before I transplant them and I will treat 1 of the Swiss cheese to see the benefits in an organic medium. Another little thing I am doing is whether it is more beneficial to apply this stuff after or before transplant since it is supposed to help with the shock. The Cheese went into its final container that they will finish in for the 12/12 from seed. 2 gallon round pots with Super soil on the bottom and roots to fill the rest, they seem to be digging it so far, not a lot of room for top dressing but if it is anything like Ocean Forest it will sink over a couple more waterings. Not using those stupid tall red cups anymore, going back to the lil foams I was using. They are just too awkward shaped, tall with lil base, so I spilled them like a bazillion times. Thats why I have soil on the floor of my tent, need to vacuum it up but I also need to get a lil hand vac for this kind of thing in the future... Now I am rambling lol, I know I have said this like 4 times before but I am getting that CO2 tank tomorrow, shits happening they can not wait anymore. The stretch appears to be over, been measuring them every day lol. So now is the time for it, they are getting trichs all over now. I rubbed number 2 for a scent and I got some lemon out of it! The other is not distinguishable yet other than the description of dank.
On to the lil bitty bud porn, you sickos probably like looking at my immature girls....
All joking aside its been 20 days since the flip, so 13 days real flowering in my book and shit is starting to get intense.

So it has been 30 days since I flipped the Space Bomb and started the Swiss Cheese. Idk how everyone else does their day counting, have heard you take a week off for the transition to flower but there was very lil transition, saw pistils in 3 days of 12/12 so just gonna count from the flip to make it easier. Everything is happy happy happy, clones are vibrant green, super soil looks a lil bit greener and healthier but I have not been feeding the other ones the Canna Tera that much since it is my first time using the product do not wanna blast em with it right away. Basically only been one feeding of 4ml/gal the feeding before I treated them with ESC I got from Inda-gro. No noticeable difference in growth yet but not expecting much since it was only 4 days ago I treated them. I gave the clones that will be receiving Canna Tera the treatment, and one of the Swiss cheese. Should make for a good comparison since they are neck and neck atm. They are also loving the super soil, been just straight water for them so far, ph'd to 6.1-6.4. They both finally showed pistils, not that I had my doubts but now if they can just hold off on the boy parts we will be great.
Have a question for you guys who have played with your photo schedule while in flowering. I have a surprise in unit inspection, bi-annual smoke detector test my fucking luck right. So my question is can I turn my lights off for a day with out seeing adverse effects such as herms? I need to shut shit down for like 8 hours on Tuesday so they do not ask any questions, got the stealth part of the equation taken care and this being my only viable option wanted to make sure I was not permanently scarring them or nothing, never really seen anyone have to do this so if nothing else it will be a stupid experiment....
Anywhoo on a happier note lets get to the pics I took of the gals this week.

Group shot as usual, if you look hard can see the cage/ring type dealy I put on them after I got done taking individuals because they were not being cooperative and could tell was only a matter of time before they start flopping. By the time I was done I could barely tie a knot because the string would stick to my fingers so bad, was pretty frustrating, but in a good way lol :weed:
2013-10-18 17.01.58.jpg
Space Bomb 2 shots, the bud shot is not the best lighting since I have to take it out of the tent just to avoid taking all the res off on my shirt.
2013-10-18 16.32.22.jpg2013-10-18 16.31.35.jpg
Space Bomb 4, this was the one that got sticky ass trichs on my fingers so I could not tie the knots I needed to
2013-10-18 16.29.51.jpg2013-10-18 16.31.03.jpg
The Swiss Cheese, shit has taken off since I put that CO2 in there
2013-10-18 16.34.59.jpg
Last but not least the clones, this was after just topping and cleaning them up (organic on the left, Canna on the right) silly side note: the "clone branch" on the Space bomb 4 clone not in super soil had crazy development, like its growing faster than the rest of the plant. Do not know what to make of it, the internodal spacing is like a cm, had to clean it up cus it already had 8 sets of nodes none really impressive in growth except the top 4, kinda want to root it now lol. Gonna transplant them this week, Super soil are going in 7 gal. while the Canna will be going in the 5 gal., I know this might skew the data a lil bit is needed from what I have read for the organics to be able to their thing I gotta have enough dirt since the ferts are in the dirt, lol kinda rhymes.
2013-10-15 19.49.34.jpg
Im pretty high right now since some friends came over and dabbed my face off so I apologize for the length, just like to give what few people care to look and inside look into my op
keep it green RIU

So the in-unit smoke detector test went off without a hitch.:hump: Camouflaged the tent to look like a stack of boxes... Think it worked, but had to cut the carbon filter off and subsequently spray a shit ton of air freshener lol. Did not realize how much work that bastard does on smell until I had to turn it off during lights on.
While I am on here figured I would put up a pic of the clones after I transplanted them, gonna start really working em over now. A buddy saw the gals and wants me to clones off these for next year outdoor experiment so gonna start working on how to get 20 clones off the next generation, shouldn't be a huge problem but I like to have the plans all laid out. So not this group of clones that I just took but the next group I take will be worked so I can take 20-30 clones come spring time and root them.
Added 2 90w panels I had to keep heat down for the day and left the pontoon on with no 420 running. Couldn't run exhaust so unless I wanted a 95 degree hot box was my only option. The one in the back looked so good over the Cheese I think I am just gonna leave it in there to help with budding, they were starting to stretch a bit too much from being away from the light now that they sit on 2 gal. pots instead of 5's. Not that they are not already stretching since they have entered bud a lil over a week ago also added one of the same kind of panels to the clone closet since they are more spread out from the bigger containers.
So here is the pic of the clones, included a shot of my tent in stealth mode lol and a pic of the gals under all LED in flower cus it looked kinda cool, brought me back to when it was an all LED grow... aaaah nostalgia.

Been a little more than a week since my last update, been a little bit busy and unfortunately the girls suffered because of it.... Had some burn developing on the tips, wasn't positive what it was so I slowed down on the feed, turned out to be enzyme (imo) and in the time with decreased feeding they have developed Mg deficiency it appears. Gave them a gallon of water with a tbsp. of epsom salts to help start correcting it, I know that nothing is overnight with soil so its gonna be a minute before they look normal. The FF trio has a lil mg in it so if i just get back to schedule all should be well by next update, can not think of a overdose that causes this so lets hope it gets better cuz it is starting to spread from the older leafs to the newer growth. On a positive note, the clones and the Swiss Cheese are really digging the super soil, the first leaves on the Swiss Cheese are still green and going, probably gonna have to top dress them soon. Played with the idea of lollipopping them but wanna see what they give me with no training.
On to the pics of the gals, put in a shot of one of the really deficient leaves so you guys can include your opinion if you think it is something else like a toxicity of some sort, no group shot this week sorry
Space Bomb #4, getting arctic frosty in there lol

Swiss Cheese, the one with the yellow tag is the ESC treated and it has about an inch and a lil more bushiness

The clones in their natural habitat lol, starting to see some difference in growth in the treated ones in this group as well but will withhold my opinion till some actual results are confirmed

Gidday Natro,

Good to hear you passed your inspection OK. I've pulled the odd 36hr dark period with my girls previously and not had a problem doing so.

Just a heads up to keep an eye on the noisy fan that you identified a few posts back. WD40 isn't regarded as a long term lubricant as it dries out relatively fast - your fan will probably encounter a repeat issue sooner rather than later. It might pay to chuck some 3in1 oil at it for a longer lasting solution, or at the least keep a close eye on it if it's a critical part where failure could lead to fire or other disaster.

One of my 120mm ventilation fans had a seized bearing making a hell of a racket about 18 months ago. I freed it up with some some high grade silicon-based bicycle chain lubricant. Really fine and light, it's a very dry lubricant. I bought it to use with my oil-bearing turntable, but its proved perfect at resuscitating dying fans.

Glad to have ya stop by smokey, i actually just opted for an interrupted day cycle with 4 hours of darkness instead of flipping the light schedule, seemed less stressful in my thinking and they have not reacted negatively. As far as the fan it is not lod cus of a bearing just loud cus its a max fan lol. thing sounds like a jet engine. sure some wd would be some good maintenance to keep her running smooth after in between grows so thanks for the reminder
