I just pulled all my digitals out and replaced them with magnetics that are 15 years old. They were used continuously for 10 or so. Cable company knocked on the door

I am just finishing a round and then I am going to replace with 315’s

I was in Oregon with my kids and my house sitter answered the door to two cable guys that said there was rf interference coming from my place from 6pm to 6 am. They asked if we had a timer or some lighting or something. Also left a note.

I had 6 Phantom 2’s that were a few years old. They had been running here that long. Not sure if my house sitter flooded the basement or got them wet somehow when he was filling my res but I do know I changed them out and had the cable company come back and it was fixed.

Most of my stuff is newer, sold off the old stuff as it was replaced. Oldest I have is a first gen purple lumatek thats probably about 10 years old and the purple is kinda faded lol.

Just make sure that if the ballast has a fan that you maintain the fan. Dust build up will happen and when a chunk flys off the blades are out of balance and the bearings take a hit. When the fan quits the ballast isn't far behind. I always pick ballasts without fans, they cost more because they have a larger heatsink and aluminum costs more than the fan.

Tried blasting fan from outside with compressed air don’t think it helped. Using it until Black Friday sales then it’s a backup
