Old soil

Recently I aquired some "fisons" sunshine mix and it is about 10 years old, all clumped up like a brick and I was wondering if it is still good to use? are all the nutrients in there? I have googled this soil and i cant find anything on it.

also wondering if this would be good to start growing or if I should add nutes in it which I don't want todo because of my limited knowledge on the subject of hydroponics...

any medium can look like there is nothing in it but trust me i kept a sealed bag of COCO COIR in a shoe closet in my house from using it at Xmas09 i came to use it again in April 10 and it had an infestation of thrips living in it which i only found after i had flushed it prior to using it.

Unless you plan on baking it in the oven on 150F for about 2hours and stinking your whole house out then just buy new.

Also a side note on Sunshine Mix. It's really good soil but there are several different #s. 4 is best for cannabis. I bought 8 and being such a noob I didn't add perlite or anything 4 drainage and am now struggling with soil that is still really really wet after not watering for 7 days now....

Not from what it looked like, but I might just buy new.

thanks for the advice
Never know though. I bought some organic soil from Home Depot. Looked fine when I unbagged it, and planted my sweet little germinated seed. Not long after, I got all kinds of fungus flies/nats all over the soil and saw larvae crawling around the top. That shit was infested as all heck. Had to dump the whole thing.

LOL @ 10yrs old though. I was 30. Oh the days that soil and I have seen!
