Ok to Trim Fan Leaves/Stems During Flowering?

Getting closer to the end of my first grow. 2 of my ladies are flowering at the moment, however my larger girl has some hand sized fan leaves that are kinda blocking flower sites. I remember reading I should trim them off to get the budding areas more light, but how do I go about doing that? Do I just clip the fan leaves off and leave the stem, or should I cut off the entire branch? Thanks

Carefully bend them out of the way or tuck them under said buds if bending alone won't do the job. Cut nothing.

I cut all i want during veg, then the day i switch to flower and at the end of week 3 I trim, this is more about airflow and upper cola growth focus. I would probably do a little better without trimming during week 3 but I hate trimming popcorn and i love having single, massive colas. If your past week 4, or it can be at all avoided, do not cut during flower, if disrupts the natural hormone cycle

Hummm... I'll see what I can do bending wise. The fan leaves are so huge though :/
