Ok Plants Are In Pots and The Lights Are On....Let The Grow Begin

OK. I have finished my summer outdoor grow and my experimental CFL microgrow.

I have finished construction of my growroom and I have purchased pretty much everything I need.

Ive also finished up my thread in design and setup and I have a gameplan.

I got a lot of help from the forum.
But I got it mostly in the form of lurking and reading tutorials.
Seems when you ask a specific question you get ten different answers.
And every answer is right according to the grower who is giving the
advice because that is what works for them. Even books by expert
growers contradict themselves. Its not exactly an exact science.
So I just took in all the info I could and in the end made my own
decisions on design. And If I make a mistake, Oh well its my mistake
to make. Ill hopefully correct it on the next grow.

Im ready for my first indoor grow.

Here is a diagram of the space I am working with.
grow room222.jpg

My set-up:

* 20 clones in 7 gallon pots
* 11 clones in 5 gallon pots
* Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil
* Fox Farm Nutrients
* 2 1000 Watt lights with adjust-a-wing reflectors under 8' X 6' canopy
* 2 1000 Watt Nextgen Ballasts
* no in or out vents
* Green Air CD-6LP CO2 generator
* Green Air CDMC-6 CO2 monitor/controller
* Whirlpool 14700 BTU Air conditioner
* 3 Air King oscillating fans
* 1 desktop ceramic heater

A couple shots of the room:

The strains Ive planted are(all from clones):

10 - Bubba Kush
4 - Grand Daddy Purp
4 - Afgoo
4 - White Widow
4 - Cheese
2 - AK 47
2 - Green Crack

My temps are around 77degrees during light and around 70 degrees in dark.
My humidity is around 60% during light and 70% in dark.

I planted the 20 in 7 gallon pots on Oct 14th and the others this last week. The ones planted on the 14th took a few days to come out of shock and are now doing great and have grown 4-6 inches and are all now about 6 to 10 inches tall.

I am vegging and flowering in the same room for this grow.

The others are gonna be a little behind the rest. I wish I had planted them all at the same time.

The only snag Ive run into so far is my CO2 sensor is not reading correctly. Ive ordered another patch cord and Im gonna try to recalibrate it when the patch cord gets here. In the mean time I have my generator on a time and it turns on for about 10 minutes a half dozen times a day.

The Veg room is empty for now. I hope to have that setup a month before this grow is over so I can have the next setof clones already vegged and ready to put in the flower room.

So thats my story. I will keep this thread updated as the grow progresses.

Comments or questions are welcome.

Question, that little grey box on your power strip on the right...second power strip from the bottom. I have that same Co2 regulator. Just bought my first bottle today. I'll be bugging my crazy little buddy at the local hydro shop manana but could you shed some light as to how you are using that regulator in your system?

That is actually a day night temp controller. C.A.P. TMP-DNE

The black box above that is my CO2 controller.

I have a 4x8 tray and 70 gal res. I'm installing all the gear tomorrow. In that area I'm running 2 1000w set ups. Some use 3 600's. I think 12 plants is my number. I just watched a grow dvd and this guy had about 10 plants under 1 600w. So who knows...Just grow it. I'm copying my buddies system on the rockwool. It can't hurt to have more with your set up. It's adjustable. Maybe you'll have some light producers but I'm sure you'll have a good bakers dozen that are rockin!

Thats pretty much what I was thinkin. I should do Ok with the four rows X five rows in the middle. The five pots on each side up against the wall are just extras and if it gets to crowded that is the space I will clear.
Plus I still have another 4 feet on the other side which would be to the right of the group shot. When things start getting crowded I plan on moving the reflectors over and spreading things out a little.

I have a feeling in the end Ill end up with 24. Ill Remove six of the weakest, add one more row in the middle with the remaining four, then spread everything out.

i really like those hoods and am very curious about the parabolic 4ft hoods. No air cooling but that can be factored in with the AC. My 2x1000w set up has your standard air cooled hoods. I'm running Co2 as well. Your AC is more powerful. You should be fine.

I have no fucking clue what to do with this Co2. Tomorrow I plan or reading a little...I'm going old school. Give me a calculator and I'm ready to go. Yeah you'll do fine with many of those...so just stuff it full till it can't handle anymore and pull the shitty ones. I found a 250mh set up for $80 on craigslist. I bought it just cause. If I was you I would have a little set up ready to go for those plants that don't make it. Then you just stick those few under that 250 or 400watter. What's another $100 at this point.

you know how in sports winning fixes everything. Yield fixes everything :)

I went to a website(sorry was a while ago and dont know where it is now) that has a CO2 calculator. You punch in the dimensions of your room and the CFH flow setting on your regulator and it tells you how long to run your C02. Pretty cool

Craigslist is awesome. I bought alot of my equipment on there. As well as other stuff.

That is a great idea I hadnt even considered.
Thx.

I forgot to touch on those reflectors.
They are awesome. They work just like the manufacturer claims. They dont seem to have a problem spreading the light out 8' at all. The plants all the way against the wall are doing just as well as most of the plants in the middle right under both lamps....so far. And yeah I had to sacrifice venting my hoods, and running the AC is a little costly but it does keep it cool in there.

I've been looking at those reflectors in all the mags for years. Now i get to see :) At least you did it right and threw some power at em.

Yeah, my little 250mh...she's like my mistress. She's cheap, i can give her a boob job at home depot (new bulb)...she runs a little hot and isn't top shelf but isn't that what a mistress is? Cheap and hot? Yeahhr! Oh, and she's there when I need her. I can go on and on...I can keep her in a dark closet :o What else?
