You know people always say they don't like the flowering times of Sativas. But if you look at like this:

Indica - veg for a month then flower for Average 8-9 (12 weeks - 13 weeks total)

Sativa - veg for one week then flower for Average 10 - 14 (11 - 15 weeks total)
I've heard of people flowering as soon as they see roots.

Really not that big of a difference. I'm sure your noticing that they don't stop growing until much later in flowering. So a reduced veg time isn't noticed. At least imo. I don't have hands on experience with a 100% Sativa... yet (next couple of weeks when I start popping beans) But that is my plan these will be 12 weekers. I'll veg until they are established then put them right into flower.

Where as my hybrids can veg the whole time without worry of outgrowing my room.

did i miss where someone said something about how far away his lights are? thats a crazy stretch, like poor lighting kind of stretch..

how far away are your lights?
what kind of light? (MH, HPS, CFL)?
how many watts are you running?

You told us in the first post but mentioned you recently changed them..

very good point when talking from seed or growing medium to larger plants.

indica sea of green= one week veg and 8-9 weeks flower. :) hard not to love that!

Hey Dirty jerz,

I swapped over from a 600w MH to a 600wHPS and the height from the top cola has always been about 12-18 inches away.

The time comparison really doesn't make sense. Apples to apples dude or nothing else is comparable. A reduced veg is noticed when you are talking that amount of time.

Is it noticed on a plant the stretches for 6 weeks instead of 2 weeks? Apples to apples or not. I don't know a lot of people that veg sativas for that long. At least in doors.

I don't have any hands on experience with them until the next couple of weeks. My buddy did some columbian gold and it stretched until the last 2-3 weeks of flower. He called it the octopus plant.

Octopussy,alright !

She-hulk was vegged for about4 weeks and I topped her after the sixth node.P1000158.jpg

It looks like she has picked up a nasty,P1000152.jpgP1000155.jpgSome leaves have a mottled appearance, and on the underside what looks to be eggs? and a type of mite.Ive ordered ozi magic terminata mite spray,so hopefully it will be here on monday.

The longer a grow goes, the more crap happens

Sativas are always some ugly bitches lol. Did you say this one is at 14 weeks flower and only showing that little of bud formation? I have to have that wrong... On the other topic who is vegging indicas a month or more lol My indicas I veg maybe 2 weeks then 5-7 week flower depending on which ones Im growing and which method Im growing in.

Those look like spider mites. I hate those bastards. Pyrethrin is the ingredient you need.

Yea,I thought it was spider mites, those free loading bastards!

Here is some bud porn.I dont think they are too small, even with that bit of stretching and new growth.
(though I'm bias)

One thing that is bothering me is my watering schedule.I'm watering for 15mins every hour.Is this too little for a plant this size,or should it be running 24/7?

Did a mercy dash and got some of Eco Oil,and sprayed the little suckers.Crap ton fell off after she dried up and I gave her a gentle shaking.she gets her a follow up spray in 3 days.

I use Azamax for preventive maintenance and stop spraying at 12/12.

I also learned my lesson, the hard way, about spacing out dousings... Quick story:

In veg I got lazy and stopped spraying. I had a Super Skunk, Green Crack and Herojuana <---- This plant sucked Balls by the way. I was at the end of my flower cycle (same room different tent) so I couldn't use a bug bomb. The herojuana ended up getting spider mites (nothing else just this stupid shit plant). I decided to spray it with Azamax every day for a week until the point it was dripping... :wall: Big mistake. The Hero ended up getting fried and committed suicide (I don't think it wanted to live anymore). Good news is I got rid of the spider mites and got rid of some shit genetics I got from Progressive Options. But the worst part is my flower room got hit with some spider mites too (Yes I was flowering the herojuana) So lost that crop cause I just started chopping branches. Can't give anyone medicine with fucking spider mites on it. Semi Sweet news... I'll be making a big batch of personal bubble with all of the flower left over from the spider mite attack (personal meds of course) bongsmilie

I now fire a Dr. Doom bug bomb every three weeks up until 12/12 switch. <----Supposedly it is safe to use on fruiting plants but my logic tells me it probably isn't good to smoke. So I play it safe.

Sorry just needed a rant, lol. I hate spider mites to the very core.

SPIDER MITES !!

Day after first application of the eco oil to she-hulk ( sprayed her an hour and a half before lights out, didn't want to let those turd munchers have another day at rancho relaxo),absolutely no frying to be seen anywhere on the girl and lots of dead black things on the plastic covered floor.I gave her a shake and more mites fell out.I'd estimate about 98% were dead and the other 2% were pretty mucked up ( clean rag and white vinegar cleaned them up).2 more days till next application.

i still have nightmares about spider mite :finger: i used to grow in a hot dry attic space and as soon as i stopped treating, they would show up and take over within weeks. the hot shot no pest vapor strips work amazingly well. just cant use em if ur grow area is in your living quarters.
