Fertilizer doesn't cause... You have immature seeds in your buds, you let them go a little too long and they hermied.

But I won't call anyone a noob

Ok i know this thread is fairly old but people still ask this same question . I have seen done legal grows a few times just small personall medical grows and this is what i can tell you.

If the bud is rag brick weed and it is really dry doing this id say chemicals on it or in it. 2 if it is somewhat moist brick id say chemicals still maybe even diesel fuel soaked into it slightly. 3 Also if it is seedy brick you might be hearing seed juices sizzling burning off. You the reader as a logical person should know that if someone claims thats resin and thc burning off that its highly doubtful. I dont fuck with downtown brown no more but i remember it clearly.

No onto midgrade dark green slightly grown tint sometimes earthy sweet sometimes arizona lime green orange hairs piney sometimes seeds but mostly tiger striped or a lighter green never really black some times has white immature seeds. With this grade most of the time when your weed crackles and sizzzles it is from seeds pieces and what not when you grind up or miss one of course you would smell that seed then you also have white immature seeds sometimes thats hard to get completely out.
You also have nutes that could be left and burning off but thats mostly it.

Homegrown outdoor now this is a sorta a different grade all together its not really a high grade medical but its not really chunky green bud with this grade you could have mites nutes water left in the bud mold of some sort seeds even.

Then you have the high grade medical seedless stinky sticky frosty seedless goodness your kushes hazes trainwrecks what have you. With this grade most of you are spending decent coin so you dont want too much sizzle and crackle most common causes of this are from too much water and too much nutes and chloraphyl.

If you purchase something that is too fresh it will still have water and choraphyl in it and if it wasnt flushed decently you will still have a bunch of nutes in it and sometimes mites maybe even mold but you cant always tell by looking you can say you know good weed when you see it and smell it but that is not always true.

I dont mess with the lower grades nemore but to each there own its whatever your budget allows.

So dont be offended if you only smoke high grade this post was general to everyone so people could avoid buying crappy weed and putting it into there body. Crappy weed could come as any grade.

But if your paying big $$$ for good bud you dont want impuritys Newbies dont always flush good and if they do sometimes they flush too early and the plants as it was dident have enough food so they begin to eat themselfs So depends on who or how it was grown sometimes .

Even if bud smells great and has some mold it might still sizzle or if it is still too wet or if it is really sticky from a heavy production of resin and trics. the more dry and cured the bud is the less they usaully sizzle or crackle rather. So if you have bud that is no more then a week or 2 dryed harder telling at that point.

I switched over to organic growing methods about 3 months ago and all of my organic weed crackles and pop when lit up. I hate to say it but growing with chem was alot easier. I never had problems like I do now. Ive had problem after problem since switched. Even though I do a 2 week flush with water it still does this. I thought it was originally because I used molasses during the flush but it does the same thing with just plain water.:-?
I know everyone thinks it's fert but I think it's because there is such a High Cannabinoid Rate that it sizzles like Full Melt Sizzle Hash. That's why some people get the crackle even if flushed and cured correctly. That's what I believe it to be.

lol, so many retarded replies in this thread. People just spout stupid shit with no clue of what they are saying.

IT"S NOT FROM THE FERTILIZER< IT"S NOT FROM NOT FLUSHING.. it's from people who should not grow weed for others to consume.

Let me just put it this way, if you want to know what causes it, think about what is in the plant, even if you did something stupid like flushing.
it's glucose, starch and chlorophyll. drying and curing is as much of an art as growing is.

It's definitely the fact their buds have moisture in them , when moisture is combusted it crackles.

agreed, why I said drying and curing is an art too. But at the same time, the black ash and bad taste come from left over sugar, starches and chlorophyll.

Yep , unflushed = black ash, under dried = crackles and stops smoking constantly in a joint. Test with a joint not a bowl, you can test the ability of it to stay lit and you can check ash color much easier.
