I have never soaked seeds or had any kind of fungus but it tells you in the "starting your seeds" thread what happens when you soak seeds or use towels.

It's kinda like cloning, I see people struggling with germing seeds and cloning and I think, what are they going to do when real problems occur?

You might not be able to pick out viable seeds but you sure can eliminate non-viable ones.
 
i noticed fuzz on some of mine soaked longer then 24 hours but if they dont crack and sink in 24 hours then i chuck them thus weeding out bullshit seeds but once sunk and no air gets to them can u get fungus if u take out in 24 hours and plant

i sucked a germ till i started doing this way it is easy for me but i plan to use clones from now on but if i had to do seeds i will still do it in water
just works for me not saying its best or right i do what is working for me and my skill level

that shit only happens if you leave them in there to long. Again, you can weed out non viable seeds, but you can't be sure a seed will germinate, no matter how good it looks until you try. Unless your special Narc power is being able to see the age and fertility of a seed, but I doubt it.

Viable seeds are easy to tell if you are experienced and have handled many seeds and planted them. I have never had a seed not germ on me in 10+ yrs of growing.

Fresh seeds have a waxy glimmer and a hard, intact shell.

Colours range from a buff through a dark brown, and from light grey to almost black colours. Often seeds are mottled with brown or black spots, or lines on a lighter field.

Green or whitish seeds are usually immature and will germinate feebly if at all.

Shiny, very dark brown or black seeds often mean the contents are fermented and the embryo is dead. Fermented seeds crush easily with finger pressure and are hollow or dusty inside.

Brick or compressed cannabis seeds must be checked as seeds that are bruised or crushed are not viable.

thats shit is funny i need a attack cat like that someone jacked my front rims on my lawn tractor last nite and broke into my shed that cat would have been handy
