official GOP debate #1 thread

I think you support anybody who confirms your bias'

But let's be fair here, why don't you tell me who you support and why you support them and skip the middle process of speculating. Usually when I ask people that they sidestep and try to crawl back out of the corner they talked themselves into because you and I know damn well who you support and why

But go ahead, why don't you tell me.. This should be good

I haven`t made up my small mind yet, only owned people have.....they must.

Like street race`n, ...anything can happen in the time to follow. I usually make up my itty bitty the day before I vote. Not you though,...

Myth one is like you say, but non workers get much more than the percentage workers get.
People who have an income receive less in food stamps than those that don't.. You don't say, shocking revelation! What you don't seem to understand or acknowledge when it's pointed out to you is that food stamps is not some get rich quick scheme for poor people incentivized to pop out babies to get more food stamps. Are you fucking retarded?

You have to be at or below 130% of the poverty line to even be eligible to qualify.

A family of 3 receives maximum $511, a family of 4 receives maximum $649, a whopping increase of $138!

$138 a month increase for 2 years maximum (total length of time SNAP recipients are eligible to receive benefits) to raise a fucking kid for 16 more years, by law... NOBODY WOULD FUCKING DO THAT YOU DOPE! It's estimated at between $250K-$300K to raise a child to adulthood.

Now shut the fuck up about poor people having kids to scam the SNAP system and become billionaires, you're a fucking retard if you believe that.
Myth two is a myth, but I know people with multiple SNAP cards.
OK, I know people who only have 1. My anecdotal evidence is just as strong as your anecdotal evidence, so fuck you, I win.

Or maybe.. maybe we shouldn't base our judgments on our own personal bullshit anecdotes that tell us nothing about real world implementation... Maybe we should actually accept the verified number of abuse even when it contradicts our beliefs..

Myth three, go to the offices and observe, you will quickly change your mind.....
More evidence you're a stupid person. "I SEEN'T IT! THEY'Z LYIN!", OK grandpa, shut the fuck up..

That's a false choice. One of the rights that we have in the US is to observe whatever religion we choose or to choose to not be religious. The right of religious freedom needs to be defended, including the attacks on religious freedom by the evangelical right. They are certainly capable of defending what they think are their rights. And they are entitled to their day in court. I'm not not completely passive on this subject however -- the next presidential election will some day decide which wing will prevail in the supreme court on just such a subject. And I want my person in office when the next supreme court nomination takes place.

Actually, in the US, more people today than ever are saying they are not part of an organized religion. The trend is against the bible thumpers. Still, about 26% of the population say they are evangelical christian and almost half the country say they are either evangelical or catholic, so the numbers can be against us. Its a good thing many Catholics vote their conscience rather than what the pope says.

As one of the tiny slice of people that would say they are Atheist, I think its probably better to just keep talking with the observant and find common ground where it exists.

I disagree with you fogdog. How can you defend the right of an organization, that has a "sacred book" that promotes slavery, and hate? Maybe you defend their constitutional right, to gather and worship? That doesn't justify it in my book. Slavery was also a constitutional right, with provisions written into it. Would you have also defended slavery, when it was a constitutional right? Just because something may be a constitutional right, does not make it ethical or moral.

You only need one example to show it can be done.....
"Chief Tomlinson said the illegal trade seems to involve a very small percentage of cardholders."

Even your own link from a right wing outlet tells you the same shit I just got done telling you and yet you still think you can generalize every poor person who genuinely needs food stamps

So stupid you are

Shut up, you said it can`t be done,.....I know of it and can if I wanted, get two State coverage. No street smarts, just a smart ass with excuses.....

While one single company - Walmart - reaps $6.2 billion a year in taxpayer funded government subsidies

Not one fuckin' peep out of RIU's token retard

Poor people use legitimate government help - FRAUD!!!

Richest corporations in America use government manipulation to benefit themselves at the expense of the American taxpayer - Crickets...

Shut the fuck up

US gov. uses 57% discretionary spending for the military - "Yessir, go get them ISIS boys, give em what-for, I tell you hwhat! FREEDOM! 'Merica!"

US gov. uses 7.5% to help the sick, poor and needy - "GODDAMN FREELOADIN' LIBERALZ!!!"

God, please just shut your stupid fucking mouth..

So you are equating modern day religious observance with the pernicious slavery we practiced in this county? Really dude?

We often agree but I can't go there with you on this. To me, its mumbo jumbo, this is true. If somebody wants to step over cracks or worry about the end of days its on them not me. When the observant abuse the rights of others because their religious views are offended, then they've over stepped. If they want to gather together, quote their scripture, sing songs and donate to disaster victims in Nicaragua then live and let live. And just look at your words: ethical and moral. Where do you think these concepts were developed and brought into mainstream human society? Religion is not the problem of society today.

Zealotry and hard line literal interpretation of religious views are the dark side of religion but that's not mainstream religion today. That's just being a crank, a dangerous crank but nothing representative of whats being practiced. No more than ISIL represents all Islam. Concern yourself with religious sects and churches that are doing harm and I can go there with you.

The Donald is my hero. Truly an amazing asset to the liberal biased political parties and thinking crowd alike. He is single handedly ensuring 4 more years of progressive politics.
