Is there a point where there's too much though?
The sun is 2000 umols @ 12"? 6"? So you would need ALOT of light.....
Someone just broke it down [Green genes?]....I think even if you were giving it a lot of light, unless it is physically damaging the plant itself, it will take the spectrums it needs and not diddle with spectrum it doesn't.
I am on the fence about either spot offered by Cree or Phillips.
If money was no option, I guess I might see about the 19.5watt phillips Br40? But even then, it is not nearly as efficient as the cheaper bulbs and certainly isn't as efficient as the funk shape Phillips one's either.
The PHillips 10.5w 3k's, Im using, supposedly have a .79 power factor, ouch! while the Cree 9.5w's are .97.
The smaller bulbs for efficiency are tough to beat, either brand and price for the spots, even for just a few, you are almost getting into a complete fixture territory and certainly you could build yourself a DIY cob bar that would kick any bulbs ass for around $100, so, IMHO I would wait for more offerings....
