Does anyone know anything about "The Odyssey" strain? I have tried researching it and can find nothing pretty much. All I know is that it is for seasoned growers.

i'm the same with the guy above, one of my all time favorite strains but i don't know anything about the genetics. It's a winner. Sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

I can tell you it is a very nice smoke, very 'red hair' type of strain with very bright orange pistols all over, nug's are tight and compact. I am not the best at describing taste but I would say it is light tasting fruity sorta. I would not mind growing this strain, the taste was good enough that even if it wasn't very strong I'd still enjoy growing it, not that it is not a strong strain it is. I have never grown it, if I remember correctly it is described in one of the volumes of either 'Big Book of Buds' (looked at vol 2&3) or 'cannabible' think it is part 3 of cannabible (I looked at Vol 1&2 and it wasn't it there) I have all three of each, just loaned out a vol of each to Mom so don't know which book it is in. When I get my books back next week I'll look again and try to remember to post a description.

They do not clone well (takes longer to root for me), however once they root, they are the best all around of any plants I have ever been acquainted with. Tight clean buds that hold their weight and trim clean. Once cured, they are sweeter than ever. Beautiful solid and never disappointing. I have heard that it is a cross between white widow and blueberry, however I wrote that guy who said to write and he never wrote me back and I came across the information a long time ago and did not save it, so of course, I am not certain. I kind of recall that there was a story about them from somewhere in San Francisco. Good luck!

On the contrary, I'm having exceptional, vigorous results with Odyssey clones (Blue Café Oaksterdam). Without exception, rooting hasn't been a problem within my CGE (day temps remain within 72 to 76 degrees F (22.2 to 24.4 degrees C) pulling inside house air from another room using a 8" MaxCan in a homemade insulated fan box, exhausting through a CanFilter 75 which is active 24/7). I'm using a LittleBoy to process H2O, 3 GH Family Series (Micro, Bloom, Flower), SuperThrive and GO Organic Root Stimulator on a 2 feed and 1 H20 rotation (2x in a row fertilizer, 1x flush with straight LittleBoy H20). All this with 2ea 1Kw 6" vented hoods with ducting running on a Light Rail 5 in a 10x7 area being pulled by another 8" MaxFan in a homemade insulated fan box: 18/6 hrs Veg, transition to flower w/ 12 hrs + 0/0 for 36 hrs in 5 gal containers using FoxFarm Ocean. BTW, I heat my home with the light exhaust - No extra utilities during winter!!! Be GREEN my friends. Try to avoid CO2 supplementation as it is EXTREMELY BAD FOR MOTHER EARTH  ... I be happy man, very happy :bigjoint: !!! People freak at just how quiet my CGE is!!! They say it's the quietest they've ever experienced. My bible is by Jorge Cervantes.

never heard of them
Its a West Coast thang... 8)

Odyssey derives from the HopeNet dispensary, SFO. Vigorous growth, strong cuttings which quick root and are mildew resistant. Ripens quickly with an excellent yield.

:leaf: Effect: Mostly Sativa; Long lasting head high

:leaf: Bouquet / Taste: Sweet taste and aroma

:leaf: Genetics: Sativa / Indica hybrid

:leaf: Flower time: 7 to 8 weeks

Prior to this, had a post on odd not cloning well, however that was one time. It is a strong producter with blueberry overtones, big K thud nugs, easy to trim and fairly resistant to powder mildew. Been growing hydro, with tons of loving care for over a year and Oddyssey, never lets us down. Recently introduced to dispenasary in SJ. All patients have said it gives a mind numbing sensation, and you will forget what you were doing. Clones on average in EX cloner within 10 days, even popcorn on flowering ladies, is heavy and glistening. See photo of my queen on Vendor Maps, Weed Maps...or 420 site

For the oddyssey post, I meant EZ cloner. Matures within 8 weeks, with a lot of red hairs. There are a lot of strains out there tacking the oddyssey name on them right now, and some do not fit the name.

Looking for information now on Elephant and Purple Elephant. read reviews from some who have stated that the canada site, will not mention who developed it, says...they uh huh, lost the genetic recipe..went on vacation, limit 2 seed packs per person, send money in an secret envelope...Feedback appreciated. Prefer to find clones as opposed to selling the property to buy these seeds....thanks to any who know anything....

Actually, it is supposed to be primarily indica, easy to grow, only had one issue with cloner and slow rooting, then it took off again. Supposedly 26% THC, patients of mine say, couch lock, mind numbing. Only have done the Hydro, so my yields vary, but all have produced large, glistening, Kuh Thud nugs, nice colas, nice popcorn, even with lower trim prior to flowering.
What I need to know is Outdoor growning of Oddyssey, if anyone has yield advice, cause I am going outdoor this year and done with indoor....Also, with Kush's in the same flowering shed, they got powder mildew and the Oddyssey did not. It is well liked by spider mites though. My yield has been generally 80 to 100 g per plant, if no problems occur. EASIEST plant I have ever trimmed, sticky and smells like blueberry bubblegum.

They've got a listed number. I don't know what any dispute would have been about. Odyssey = Catpiss X Afghan. I was curious, because we've got one, and she's out performing almost all of her sisters, that even went in, weeks earlier! We will see how she flowers (Setup = 2x400W Metal-Halides, 1x600W HPS, and an array of 5500-6500K CFL's). She's totally vigorous! Yeah, the description down the page is off of an Oaksterdam or HopeNet publication. She is a strong sister!

... for information now on Elephant and Purple Elephant..." Yeah, I heard it was an African Sativa that was simply grown on Elephant! Yes, you'll have to consult your local zoo about growing on elephant dung, but there probably is a genetic distinction to follow up on here. I don't know genes, except what I heard from some cats at a collective. Elephant DOES come from Africa and DOES perform well on dung. That's what I've got.

ThatGuy sounds like you have been around awhile or talk to some people that have

looking forward to watching one of your grows make sure to put up a link in your sig.

I have a odyssey, but is not performing good at all. Not even sure if its a odyssey since they are really easy to grow and all. growing so slow, even took a clone to see how it was almost two weeks for roots normally i get roots in a week at the most weird huh, and that clone does have roots but not even one new leaf one week after roots hmm some collectives grr :cuss:

anyways bump up the thread theres gotta be more people growing The Odyssey want to compare to what i have.

TEST TEST

I just returned from hope-net and asked the budtender what the genetics were. He paused and then started saying "afgooey x..." when Cathy, one of Hope-Nets founders, interrupted him and said "It's an old Skunk #1 cross". I said "I have heard various people mention several different strains as the parents and nobody seemed to know for sure" She replied "we brought it with us from the east coast when we moved here". So she was certain of the skunk but said the grower who supplied them with the cut kept the other parent secret.
