Odyssey, Lemon Widow 250W CFL grow

So this is my first grow. I think I've done my fair share of research and spend a good amount of time creating my grow space before I started. I picked up 2 clones from a local dispensary (San Diego), a "The Odyssey" and a "Lemon Widow."

I found some info on the odyssey strain on this website but haven't found anything out about the lemon widow. It looks like its got a fair bit of sativa in it to me but ??? Anyone ever grow or smoke it?

My grow space is made of 2 22 gal rubbermaid buckets one upside down on top of the other. The inside is lined with reflective tape, 6 CFL's with 3 y splitters in a 3 socket fixture from home depot suspended from rope to be able to adjust the lights. I have 2 ~100 cfm cpu fans for exhaust, passive intakes with dryer duct to act as a light trap. Also 2 DIY pencil cup carbon filters atop both fans. Temperatures never exceed 75 and never drop below 60.

I started my clones on 2/2 in FFOF soil under 18/6 6 x 23W 5000K CFLs and vegged them for 3 weeks w/o any additional nutes. I switched to 12/12 on 2/24 and upgraded to 6 x 42 W 2700 K CFLs and am now using FF Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom at regular strength.

This is my first ever grow, I'm tired of paying high prices at the dispensaries and thought this would be a fun project. It's mostly a learning experience, I'm not expecting to yield that much, an 8th probably lasts me 3 weeks anyways so this is more of just for fun / to say I did it.

I'm open to any suggestions/comments. I'm especially interested in anyone who has switched from CFL to HPS of equivalent wattage and how the temperatures changed. I only have a few pictures now but will continue to post more as my grow continues.

Just over a week into flower and buds and pistlis are already developing! How exciting.

Day 11 of flowering. I think I'm gonna try some more LST to open up the lower parts of the plant to the light. We'll see.

Last night I watered both right before lights out. This morning there were drops all over the leaves of the lemon widow. This is the second time it's happened and it's only if I water right before the lights go out. This has never happened to the other plant. Not too worried, anyone ever see this? It's starting to get a faint smell of lemon which is a trip. Buds are growing each day!

stop watering before lights out. last water cycle should be about 2 hours before lights out. Watering begins when lights come on and then only when needed. Get a moisture meter at any nursery, about 5 bucks. That meter will save you time and your plants will respond better.

Cool man thanks for the tip. Although I think I'm gonna pass on the meter I'll look out for when I water.

Day 19. Things seem to be moving smoothly. I guess doing my research before hand really is paying off because I haven't had any problems so far. I know that probably was a dumb thing to say. Buds are really filling in. Each day you can tell the difference its incredible. Looks like trichs are starting to show up!

Hey man! I'm day 9 (on Saturday morning) into flowering, using 252w (just added like 40 today, it WAS 216w) of 2700k cfl's... I'm doing some bagseed... just started to see those hairs curling around

Hey man this is looking great. I just got 4 clones from the club today, 2 purps and 2 querkle. I am thinking of having a setup very similar to yours. How big of a space is your grow cabinet? I have a 2 x 3 x 4 space i can use, but can only veg for 2 weeks. Do you suggest 1 gallon pots? Sorry for so many questions, this grow is exactly how i want mine to turn out.

Hey sounds cool. I grow in 2 22 gal rubbermaids, I think its roughly 1.5 x 2 x 3. I think 1 gallon pots should be fine, I heard that you should have a gallon for each foot tall you want the plant to grow (roughly). Tomorrow is 4 weeks, I'll post some pictures tonight after work.

Today is 4 weeks of 12/12. Some of the lower fan leaves are starting to yellow and fall off. I've read that that's a normal part of the flowering process and has to do with the fact that the fertilizer I'm using is low in Nitrogen, and high in Potassium and Phosphorous.

I do have a question regarding smell though. It's been a month and there are some decent sized buds (in my opinion) and there is absolutely no smell. I imagine that if they haven't started to really smell by now then maybe (hopefully) these are two low-smell strains? I have some DIY carbon filters attached ANYWAYS and I'm a licensed medical grower so its not a huge concern. However I do prefer not to have my home wreak of weed, I do have a roommate. Is it safe to say that no smell this far into flower means that smell won't be a huge issue?

Wednesday marks 6 weeks since switching to 12/12. The info I found about Odyssey says its done in 6 to 8 weeks. I can't find a damn thing about lemon widow anywhere on the web. I'm not looking to rush these, I don't mind the wait. The odyssey looks like its further along than the other.

What do you guys think? One more week of nutes for the odyssey then start flushing? Or am I still way too early? I think the lemon widow still has a while. Trichs have yet to turn amber on either plant.

no those plants aren't ready to harvest. your maybe looking at 3 more weeks minimum. you want to wait for about 75% of the hairs to turn orange and the buds to start to swell. dont harvest too early or your yeild wont be as heavy, remember, in the last weeks of flowering is when they put on the most weight. also before you harvest give them 48 hours of straigt darkness, as this will encourage heavy resin production.

I'm only 3 weeks into flowering, but Odyssey does appear to be developing fast and I would say week 8 is probably a good target. Being that Lemon Widow is obviously something lemon-named (possibly Lemon Skunk) crossed with White Widow...and given that White Widow is known to have long flowering times, I'd expect the Lemon Widow to finish somewhere around 10 weeks (plus or minus a week); supporting this, my Lemon Widow appears to be on par with my Blue Dream...and consesus seems to indicate that Blue Dream takes 10-11 weeks.

Yeah I got mine from PB420 on garnet. I have the odyssey on just water now for the flush. The trichs are all cloudy and starting to amber. I thought the lemon widow was almost done too but then all of a sudden the buds started growing even more so I think they have to go back on nutes for a few more weeks. Since I'm just growing for myself I have no reason to rush it and harvest early.

Have you smoked any Odyssey ever? I sampled a small bud from the bottom and it was amazing. Good luck with your grow!

Ok so today is 7 weeks. It's looking amazing! I sampled a small nug from the bottom and it was some serious couch lock, super high great weed. The trichs are all cloudy, a few are amber but only on the leaves sticking out from the bud, not on the buds themselves. I'm figuring I'll harvest it next week. Stoked!

Yup! PB420. Haven't tried any Odyssey yet, unfortunately. Based on reviews I've read, seems to offer a great combination of yield to potency. Mine are too far off to sample from, though there shold be plent soon given that the 2 Odyssey plants are 5' bushes at this point.

I've heard that many Widow varieties seem to take forever to finish as you just noticed...but as you mentioned, no hurry. Any pics of the Lemon Widow (I'd love a glimpse into my future)!

Great pictures BTW...It's been 15 years since I had anything to do with a project...simply amazing, and nothing beats smoking your own stuff!
