has anyone tried the odor sok if so does it work as well as the typical can filter?Odor Sok - Activated Carbon Filters. Odour Sock makes carbon canister filters obselete. Perfect for hydroponics - Home
Mine worked great the first few weeks and slowly started to taper off. I understand that part of this problem was my own. If I could do it again and I will, I would suggest you build something.
If you are going to buy this product be sure to read the CFM rating of the filter. Compare the CFM of the filter to your fans, I would not exceed 75% of the recomended CFM on the filter. If you need a 6" filter do not just buy the first one you see or the cheapest one. Get the one with the highest CFM rating.
The moment you get close to the CFM rating of the filter stinky air will begin to pass through and out your exhaust. Did any of that make sense ?
I will be using this filter in my cats litter area under the stairs..
The harder you run the fans through the filter the more stinky air that flows through and the shorter your filters life cycle will be.
I know this is from an old part of this thread but...mine did and is working great,5 months so far 24 hours a day.
I've got the 6" 450cfm piece of shat....dont waste your money like I did. get a real filter I've been using my sok for 2-3 weeks now,no air leaks, low humidity, proper cfm....GARBAGE.my house wreaks, went and bought activated carbon today gonna get aluminum screen and nylons in the morning, then I'm gonna fill the sok with activated carbon and use it as the housing for my new diy filter....figured I might aswell get my money's worth out of this junk, gonna make her into a real filter...first thing in the morning. I know some people have had great success, but I on the ther hand will not be wasting my money on another odorsok ever again.I recommend you dont either.I know this is from an old part of this thread but...
I was wondering about how many plants are you covering with the odor sok?
What is the size Sok and fan motor?
Type of fan?
Thanks in Advance...
