Hi all..

as i am planning on growing again my first though was how am i going to go about neutralizing odors..?? in my other grow I didn't have any kind of odor neutralizer and in flowering it became a bit of a problem and the grow only consisted of 2 plants..
my new grow is going to consists of 4 plants under a screen using a 600w hps so was thinking a 4'by4' area would be suitable. this grow cannot have any smell of any kind.

I was thinking of using a 6" carbon filter and scrubber for exhaust and 4" inline fan for intake and maybe throw an ONA block in there. how does that sound ? and also is it safe to exhaust inside or should I still exhaust in the outside air ?

decided to throw in some pics of my last harvested buds. (everybody loves bud porn) enjoy:hump:

thanks for reading.

That's a beautiful harvest.
I use a 4" carbon filter attached to my 400w light then to my 6" fan. It controls my heat and odor perfectly in my 2x4 with 2 plants in bubble buckets. I have 2 backups as well. I have an ozone jr in the hallway outside the room and then an ona gel with linen cover scent next to my apartment door. I think the carbon filter is good enough but I always use the extra backups, plus my apartment is always fresh smelling for a bachelor. I think it will definitely be enough if you make sure the only air coming out of the tent is through the filter.

I have a closet in a bedroom all air goin in and out of the closet comes and goes back into the bedroom. A properly sealed closet with a carbon scrubber has no smell what so ever. for when the door is opened or when theyre pulled out ozium clears the smell out of the room. Ona Gel is good stuff to if you want extra but i bought a gallon and just use it for my stash drawer a little shot glass worth in there takes care of that.

when buying a scrubber match the recomended cfm to that of the fan. if a noise is a concern with the fan speed controllers help.

thanks for the replies 'cosmisentity' and 'extreme'. I guess I will be continuing with my plans then... and adding a fan speed controller as sound is a bit of a concern.

and dopeyG well that was my first successful grow.. I had 2 plants grown in soil under a 400w hps using fox farm trio ( liquid form ), as you can see I also had them attached to a screen.

You will need a good carbon filter if you want no smell. Look into a Phresh Filter 6"x16" or even better a 6"x24"...You can check them out HERE.

thanks.
I was looking at this they use the same Australian-mined RC48/RC412 carbon at least thats what they stated. so would you think it would be great at removing odors ?

Phat Filters and Phresh Filters are some of the best on the market. It's a good choice!
I use a 6in vortex in combination with a 6x24 Phresh filter to scrub my veg cabinet AND my flowering cabinet. You can stand directly infront of the exhaust and not smell anything!

I also use a variable fan speed controller that speed up or slows down the fan to within 3, 5, or 7 degrees of the desired temp. This supposedly helps cut down on motor wear and tear as most cheap controllers use a on/off circuit to regulate when the fan is on.

This is an excellent speed controller that I own and highly recommend. It produces absolutely no noise from the fan. Check it out HERE
