Odor Control Question

I'm a new grower about to get started on my first grow. My grow room is 3.5 x 3.5 x 8. And I am venting it directly into the attic with an inline fan. My attic has passive vents, of course, but it has no fan to move air around.

Should I use some sort of odor control (carbon filter)?

Else, will venting directly into the attic (without any odor control) prevent an odor problem?

Thanks

I'm doing a grow with a 600w + 2x4x5 grow space with 5 plants.. 6 weeks flowering and i'm doing the same thing as you.. inline fan straight up into the attic. It doesn't smell at all unless i take the plants out of my tent :) A carbon filter is just a bunch of surface area in a small space, your attic is a bunch of surface area in a larger space so it's pretty good at getting smell out i think unless you have a ton of plants. Most of the particles in the air should get stuck up there before it leaves the awnings of your house.

really depends on the strain, i have done 6 plants without a filter, then i had a strain that was worst..1 plant stunk up the entire house

I would use a carbon filter just to air on the side of caution. A can fan 2600 should suffice. That's what I use in my grow box which is 6' tall, 32" deep and 4' wide with three 2 1/2 inch holes at the bottom for passive fresh air intake. No ordors no problems.. happy growing
