OceanRevive 300w and first grow

OceanRevive 300W LED

Found on Amazon for 120 dollars. Rolled the dice with this one, there wasn't a whole lot of information I could find on this brand, but they also make high quality fish tank led panels, and that's all they have on their own site.
Real Power: 150W ± 3%

I want to preface the following with stating I'm a medical grower for person medical use, in a state deemed legal to do so. This is also my first grow. I've grown veggies and flowers outdoors in the past and have always done well and learned things over the years, but never cannabis, never indoors.

I bought two clones from a dispensary, usually 10 dollars a piece, payed 5 a piece for first time patient. Cheese, the short squat in the following pictures, and Lemon Sour Diesel, the tall lanky. I did some research, but apparently not enough, because I put them into straight Fox Farm Ocean Forest. On the one hand, I fucking love this soil. It's so god damn hot, I haven't had to add any extra nutrients for my entire grow. Only at the end have I started to give them fox farm big bloom, just so those glorious flowers meet their true potential. But on the other hand, as you'll see, they nutrient burned the clones, and gave Cheese nitrogen toxicity. This is a known issue, just wasn't known to my lazy ass at the time.
I swapped the plants position after this first album, but you should be able to tell the difference just based on height and the way they grow. Lemon started at 11" Cheese at 7".

Excuse the image dumps, I went mad with power.

I vegged them for one month. I almost vegged them for shorter, because Lemon Sour Diesel got so tall, so fast, I was running out of room. This is partially due to the light being too far away from the plants I feel. I should've propped up Cheese sooner so it could get more light, and lowered the light period. Anyways, last day of flowering. I also took off foliage the bottom thirdish of the plants a week before I changed to 12/12. This helped somewhat, but there are still many small budlets that won't reach a true bud status because they simply do not receive enough light. At time of light change, Lemon was 24" Cheese 15.5".

Still just adding water, 1-2 gallons per watering, don't have to water very often, plants seem pretty happy.

Here they are about a week after that. Lemon was growing into the light, I had to tie the main stem down, it bent pretty far. I used Raffia Straw, because that's what we had in the house, went around the stem not tying a not, and taped both ends to the side of the black pot. I was afraid to LST through the whole grow, until necessity reared its head and I had to trust myself and trust my plant. Next grow? LST from the start, I mean, look at that Lemon Sour Diesel, all those colas are tremendous, I just imagine what I could've had the plant looking if I did it earlier. I also tied Cheese back a bit, not as severely. I tied it back, because its so wide, curvy, and sexy, it was growing into Lemon just a little too much, and I wanted them to have space and air. It worked for a time, until they ended up both growing into that space anyways. They don't seem to have to fight very hard for light though, so there are still some nice flowers in that middle area.

Here they are 2 weeks after that.

Here they are around the time of this post. I fed Lemon Sour Diesel nutrients a day before I took this set. Cheese will get fed next watering, but it was still too damp to water.

I am a proud father indeed. I'll update this thread as they mature, and as I think of anything else to add. Will also share final dry weight. As you can see, this no name light did a pretty good job so far. The proof will be in the pudding, and the final product, but I'm confident, just from the glorious citrusy, musky, potent aromas, and the stickyness of the plants over all, that this will be quality medicine, because I gave it love. Any and all input or criticism is greatly appreciated and I truly would like to hear what you guys think. Thanks for your time, and congratulations for making it through my long winded thread. Much love.

Dude looks awsome, what's your ventilation setup look like ! And is it just that one light in there, I have a grow similar to yours and was considering buying one of these lights. Also what are you using for nutrients.

Thanks Ricky, it really is nice to hear positive things about the fruits of my labor. Didn't have to use any nutes for the whole grow, used fox farm ocean forest, but I gave it some fox farm big bloom during flowering just to hopefully plump those buds up a bit. As far as ventilation goes, I just have a small fan propped up on an upside down pot blowing out of the chamber, and then a box fan on my window blowing air out. Does it reek of bud around the outside of the house? Yes, definitely. After I harvest, I'm going to work harder on dealing with smell. The only reason I'm not worried about it now is because I'm legal, the people I live with are okay with it, and my neighbors keep to themselves. Bought some activated carbon, gonna try to make my own sort of carbon air filter eventually, I'm just not very good at functioning sometimes.

I should also have another fan, blowing air onto the plants I feel, but these things got so big, there's really no room in the closet for anything else. So periodically I'll check on em and use the small fan to circulate air and move all the leaves and flowers. Maybe 2-3 times a day. Plus, there's no fan besides my windows box fan running at night, and I don't think that's optimal either, for the humidity nor the plants natural processes.

Indeed that's the only lighting I have in there, no supplementation whatsoever.

I'll be the first to admit that there's nothing professional about my grow, but they seem happy, they smell nice and not like hay or skunk butt, so I must be doing something right. I'll post some new pictures soon, they're getting mad close to harvest.

I feel all of your pains and it looks super killer for the light man. I may just get one of these instead of a Hps due to heat and Money check out my grow

I got the exact same mylar you did. You have a very level head, and if I kept getting told I was using tin foil, I wouldn't have been nearly as calm and collected as you were. Props. Trust me, HPS is on the way out. With the way LEDs are going, it's a no brainer to make the switch. Especially those DIY cobs, I'm definitely gonna make me some of those when I get some cash. My closet stays warm enough, above 70, to not need extra cooling nor heating. My room outside of the closet is an icebox with the boxfan going, but I like that shit. I'd rather be cold and have to put on a sweater or blanket, than be so fucking hot that I'm sweating like a hooker in church.

I'll probably use smaller pots next time, if I'm gonna do multiple plants, just because of the space issue. Next cycle I think I'd rather grow one plant, but just make it the greatest thing imaginable. I'm thinking Blackberry Kush as it seems to be a pretty good anti-depressant/anti-anxiety for me. It's always a learning process, you're constantly figuring out what works and what doesn't, and if you're like me, you can't wait until next grow to right those wrong and see how much better the plants can get. This is my first grow too, so I have a ways to go until I master the art.

Thanks for sticking your head in the thread, I pretty much resigned to the fact that this was going to be dead, stay dead, and get buried haha.

Oh, one of my ideas for making the mylar more smooth and possible reflect a little better was to attach the mylar to cardboard before attaching it to the wall. Might be easier to make it tight and smooth that shit out, using staples or glue. But as you can see, mine is pretty half assed and this is just theory. Just a thought since we're both in the same boat. I'll eventually post more pictures and a final dry weight, so you can have an idea of the kind of yield you might get with the light. If anything, what I get will be a lesser yield than the light can probably give a more seasoned grower.

God damn I'm long winded, sorry about the ranting, I'm obviously ripped hahahaha.

Thank man you answered and touched base on almost everything I had to ask people are pretty good at that on this site, and also giving bad info as well. I pretty much expected to get made fun of with my ghetto setup and my 8th grade writing level (when I started smoking) But people have been nice and taught me shit and I really appreciate that shit. I will update my setup as I get money for my setup. My problem is no ventilation and my neighbors aren't so cool so the window is out the window. It gets to like 84' peak in my wardrobe and I can't drill holes in it, bummer and I can't leave my doors open or cats or bugs will come into my closet :( so I tie it up with a shoe lace and it keeps it closed. Man it sucks being poor. And I planted to many damn seeds to handle

Don't even trip brother, that guy is a grade A cunt. I started smoking in 8th grade too, doesn't make us retarded. Fuckin ignorant people with nothing better to do than worry about semantics and nothingness. As long as you get your point across, which you do better than a lot of people on here, you have nothing to worry about.

You're right, the misinformation is ridiculous. It's mostly fueled by big egos who don't think things through logically. I never got not admitting when you're wrong. The day you stop doing that, the day you stop learning, and they day you stop learning is the day you stop living. It's what makes us human.

Good luck with your ventilation issue, I wish I had more information to give you but I'm still trying to figure it out myself. At least you have fans blowing on the plants, that's more than I have. Plus you have that dehumidifier which is dope as fuck, I'm jealous. You'll get there man, just keep at, keep tinkering, keep toying with stuff, and eventually you'll find that sweet spot and grow some amazing herb.

Harvested Cheese on April 11th, took about 3 hours to harvest, got 38 grams total. That's with some big ass stems though, since I found it was easier to trim with nice handles. So lets call it 36 grams. I'm happy with the result, one plant that could've been grown better, but still came out with some beautiful flowers. At 420, my buddy had some Cheese that a buddy of his grew. It was pretty easy to see which was the superior bud, just from looks alone. I did well guys, real well.

Lemon Sour Diesel was cut down on the 19th, so it's still drying, will go into jars the next few days. That stuff looks and smells delicious too, will update with the final yield once it starts curing, and once I'm able to use my friend's scale. It took 5 maybe 6 hours to trim, though I did take breaks with Lemon Sour Diesel whereas with Cheese I pretty much trimmed the whole time. What a ride, I'm looking forward to growing more once I move later this year, but at least now I know in my heart that I have the potential to grow some killer bud, with much room for improvement on the yield side of things.

On another note, does anybody else ever have nightmares about mold, spider mites, or other disasters? Shit man, I woke up in a cold sweat after having a nightmare that all my buds were covered in spider webs. But now that things are curing/drying, the stress level is way down.
