Add a little lime to it and it should be fine. I monitor my soil, but I never seems to change. I run mine at 6.8-7.0. I feed with blood and bone meal and bat guano. And some cow manure and humus compost and thats all you should need to start. Chemical ferts will kill the benificial bacteria in the soil.
Can u inbox me what you use? I cant p.m..:( I appreciate any help I can get as I confused as hell right now..

im getting confused also, haha. the soil i use is almost inert, with very little fertiliser in it, just enough to care for baby stage, with my soil you see when the girls want to feed. this is what i use, read, google and compare, the choice is yours..

veg stage...plagron.terra grow........5ml per litre just that til the flip
flowering stage..plagron terra bloom (basic bloom nutes), use this till sex or preflowers are visible
canadien express ..regen-a-root.. 1ml per litre..(keeps roots strong and helps prevent disease)stop at week 7
canadien express..superior potash..1ml per litre..(increases weight and size of flower) stop at week 6
canadien express..head-master..1ml per litre..(super flower enhancer) stop at week 6
growtec..monster bloom..6grammes per 19litres, calculater prob req..stop at week 6
house and garden van de zwaan..bud xl..1ml pr litre..(sugar transporter v.good) start at week 6 til end
i also just water with mollassess for the last week on its own, add all ingredients one at a time to water left out for 24hrs, ph the solution with a pen or liquid test kit, and bob should be your uncle..he is mine.. its really confusing in the beginning but that is what i use and do, and im laughing, there maybe others on this site that dissagree with me but im only a newbie myself with only 3 harvests behing me, but every one has been very good quality and quantity.. my last two girls gifted me 18.5 ounces of prime bud, the talk of the town..

hope that helps.. good luck, free to answer any more...elenor..

I agree with them both as well. I am currently running my first grow and I too wanted everything to be perfect. My setup (you can check it out below) ran me about $1200 in startup (seeds included) and I really cut cost by making my grow boxes by repurposing existing furniture or making it from scratch. The fact that you have taken the time to do your research is what will make you successful. Don't try to be over ambitious and waste all your money, it doesn't take much to get them started but it is your knowhow that will keep them alive and going strong. I'm not on here frequently but I will happily respond to any question in a timely fashion if you need it.

:) thanks Ive been researching for 3 months now and still have a few wekks until I set up..
That was about how long I prepared before diving right in.
How big of a grow are you planning on running in terms of space and number of plants?
Are you going to flower from seeds or run a mother and clones?

Sounds like a good setup. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.
