Obama's state of the union address failed to mention legalization

Not sure how many people watched the state of the union address but here is the thing, Obama should have called for the end of prohibition. He should have seize the opportunity to end the unjust and harmful prohibition on cannabis. Here is an interesting article about why he should have and what that would have caused:

Perhaps all the violence and the economy are more important issues? I dunno. Just an observation.

No doubt about it but it would have been a great platform to bring more awareness to legalization. It's a big part of the electoral platform in 2016.

I agree, he could have addressed legalization but I don't think he wants it to be his legacy. ^^^^^ This is a great legacy lol.

This is and has always been a state issue. Until the states overturn their laws, no one at the federal level is going to do much of anything.

If Mexico and Canada legalize federally, it should help sway the US. If the US was to legalize federally so would Canada ann Mexico... it seems these political ties are also hindering legalization. These countries need to do this as a coalition agreement.

It seems that no one is willing to make the first step..
