Obamacare - What to do

After next jan 1st 2014 everybody will know what to do, and that is get signed up for the BarryO health plan..........The discussion here will be interesting when everybody has to pony up...And there will be a lot of people that had health care from there work place that no longer will be covered.....But BarryO to the rescue .......PAY UP SUCKERS...........

Good morning Buck...

I have been paying for health care for a very long time....Nothing is going to change for me except it looks like I will be paying more...and it will go up every four years until I reach 65....then I get the boot......I just hope I can make it to 65......It is all the other people that have never paid, and the people that had coverage that no longer will be covered and have to go get there own...Those people will live'n up the discussion here...I am really looking forward to that day...........nitro..

don't you think that losing your health insurance would cause you pain? i mean, employer health insurance is how we do it in this nation, much like germany and switzerland. it costs a lot more if you work min wage with no bennies like kynes and have to buy your own privately.

well, now the gov is stepping in to help folks like kynes be able to afford health insurance. if he is truly low income with min wage and no bennies, the gov now plays the role of the employer and covers the other part of his health insurance. he can not be forced to pay more than is fair just because he is unemployed.

does nothing to address the real concern of rising health care costs (besides getting more people in the pool and minimizing administrative costs etc), but it does help people who otherwise couldn't get care. and it holds those who could but don't responsible.
 
Good morning Buck...

It doesn't make sense for a employer to provide health care for thousands of dollars, when the employee can get it for almost nothing on there own if they make 30k......I have been around for a while and there is not much health care offered unless you are a civil worker for the city ,county, or state or you are lucky enough to get on at mill.....Most everybody else are small business people where I live and there is not much health care offered at the work place......

I know we live in the same state........Maybe there is more work place health care in the city, I don't know I just look around where I am at....When you say Thats how we do it in this nation, I just don't know what to say...I mean I know how the city county and state do it....But people like me can't afford to buy health care for several thousand per person.....I spend 7 to 8k a year for personal injury Ins for each employee and that is not health care that would be on top of what I am paying.......

The good thing is for people that don't make much and have kids they will be paying but it will not be much if at all...........nitro..

There seems to be no correlation between longevity and health care for the general population. Longevity is a moving target and it includes infant mortality which is somewhat higher in this country than others. We really don't live that much longer than we did, we just have more children that survive which skews the figures.
