but what does this all mean for mmj
absolutely nothing. more government control means tighter restrictions on everything, weed included. did you really think they were going through all this for your benefit? this was always about currying favor with special interests and a gullible public. this grand accomplishment amounts to nothing, it's only another step toward the totalitarianism you've been warned of time and time again. each illusory step forward is accompanied by two steps away from any hope of maintaining the liberty of the individual.

what did you really think was being gained? mandatory insurance required merely for the right to breathe, with little but a series of loopholes for the insurance industry to protect us. increased taxation so your masters will have a bit more of your money to play with. another crumb thrown to the peons. just more bread and circuses, the slaves dancing in the streets as they are being fitted for their chains.

we know that no great culture has ever collapsed all at once, but slowly declined as its people lost their will. we are honored to witness this mechanism at work within our own society. our people are frittering away the gift of self-determination, trading it for a false sense of moral superiority.

And lets not forget the extra stuff this bill has in it,Taxpayers are required to buy insurance under President Barack Obama’s reform proposal by 2014 or face penalties of roughly $325 per individual that the IRS would collect. Assuming it becomes law, the Congressional Budget Office expects the IRS will need roughly $10 billion over the next 10 years and nearly 17,000 new employees to meet its new responsibilities under health reform.

each time a new scapegoat is brought low, the bloodthirsty mob cheers. throw another christian to the lions and the emperor gains another legion of devoted acolytes.

have you forgotten how this prohibition we labor under began? it started with the powerful vilifying one small, easily identifiable group and turning the mob against it. the restrictions on the few were naturally transferred to the whole and a bit more liberty was lost. have you forgotten that no industry is an entity to itself? it is the sum of all investments and labors of individuals, just like you, who had the same rights as we all did until government stepped in and restricted their ability to perform. those same restrictions that will naturally be transferred to each of us as soon as the federal bureaucracy can manage. each step takes us farther from the natural freedoms promised to each of us in that little document called the constitution. remember it?

Democrats remember the Constitution only when it suits them.

Unfortunately, the same principle applies to Republicans.

of course.

the constitution was designed to limit the powers of government and no political animal can stand the thought of such restrictions.

As long as they get there free this and free that, there happy to sign that freedom away.

Yet if people like you had your way the number one cause of death for old people would be freezing and starving to death. Which by the way WAS the number one cause of death for them until Social Security was passed and republicans were against that as well. Nothing new under the sun.

There were more Republicans voting in favor of SS than in favor of this monstrosity.

I don't know what your smoking but I want some of it, It has your head in a cloud of haze that I wish I was in with you.

Number one cause of elderly death in early America pre 1935 was Meningitis (Journal of Infectious Diseases) the second leading killer was heart disease , the third was black lung.

Back up your facts with hard facts.
